I have a question, we are currently in the process of potty training and using the Huggies Learning Designs pull up (the one that disappers in the front when they pee)it's ok; but I wanted to know if anyone has used the feel and learn or the cool alert pull up. I would like to know after he goes pee one time and it cools him/alerts him that he wet, the next time he pees in the pull up does it do it again? How long does it keep alerting them? Not that I keep him in his pull up all day; but I don't change him the first time he pees in it either....

What can I do next?

I've heard that the cool alert pull-up doesn't actually work. Haven't used them for my daughter though, so it wouldn't hurt to try them! My daughter used the Huggies Learning Designs also. I was really pleased with the progress she made. It just takes time, of course! She still wears them to sleep in. We don't want to chance her and her bed getting soaked in an accident in the middle of the night! Good luck!

The huggies fit better and if they do have an accident they are easier to gett off without making a mess. My kids did better just going straight to the regular underwear. I'm guessing they thought they were still in a diaper so it didn't encourage them to go to the pottie everytime. Once I put them in underwear they trained in a few days.

The cool alert did nothing for my son they never got cool and he would wet them like nothing. I have learned to put them in regular underwear and that was the best way once they wet those a couple of times they really don't want to do it again. My kids go to SBISD my little girl went to a SBISD pre-K. Hope this helps.

Hi M.--

To be honest, my little one NEVER really felt anything when she was in either one of the pull-ups. She is 2 1/2 and completly potty trained..and has been for about 4 months. I had her in BOTH pull-ups for about 3 months..then I went straight panties. Needless to say, she was potty trained in 2 days!!! I think is was just all psychological...she knew that the pull-up was on, so she didn't care if she wet! However, I did prefer the huggies because they have the easy open on the side..and you can close it back up with no hassle!! The pampers trainging pants--do NOT do that!! It's easy to get it off...but can not put it back on. If your little one is in daycare, they do frown upon the pampers...basically, they will have to strip your child every potty schedule just to put it on him...kind of a pain! At night, the pampers are no big deal! But whichever brand you get, I would greatly suggest to get the stick (or whatever you call them..lol) open on the side!

Best of luck ...and go pottying!!!

I personally.... and after advising with friends....do not think it matters. I didn't see any difference in the cool alert or the learning designs. My son just turned 3 when he potty trained fully and I don't think he even noticed the coolness....maybe he liked it :). I know it didn't make a difference in his training.

I put water in one once and noticed the coolness immediately. I think if he is in it longer than one pee ("Wee" all do it!!) than it really isn't working how huggies wants it to.

I am a generic diaper user....but I refused the generics with pull-ups! Huggies is the best in my opinion because they are the only ones that have velcro sides. I thought it was essential to not change my son "like a baby" and the velcro side sure did help me not to have to take clothes off and on.

I personally just let him pick the one he liked and we talked to him about not peeing on Mater or Lightning! But, I will tell you...when I mustered the courage to just take away the pull-ups and put him in real underwear all the time (despite the accidents and frequent trips to the washer) it made all the difference in the world!!

Good luck! Hope I am of some help!!!

We are using the Pull Ups for our 2 yr DS. I recommend the learning designs vs. the Feel-n-Learn because the kids don't seem to notice anyway. With the Feel-n-Learn, the jelly-like substance was not easy to remove. Eventually, we will move on to underwear-only to speed up the training process.
