My 8 month old will not keep his socks on (common problem - I know). It wasn't a big deal, but now that it's starting to get cold, I want him to keep his socks on. We're constantly on the go, so I'll find we're out somewhere and he's taken off his socks & thrown them who knows where!! : ) I feel like I've read about certain shoes or socks that babies can't pull off (or have a very hard time pulling off), but I'm drawing a blank - anyone have any good suggestions? Thank you!
My 21-month old does the same thing. The only thing that prevents her from pulling off her shoes and then socks is lace-up shoes ....NOT velcro. They can't get lace-up shoes off.
My son had that problem too. Robeez worked for him. I call them his slippers. He's now 2 and still wears them in the house. They have non-skid bottoms and elastic at the ankle. You can get them in stores or on line.

i had the same problem with BOTH of my daughters around the same age... i finally started buying the kind of socks youre supposed to roll down, only instead of rolling them down i would pull them allll the way up the babies leg! they cant figure out how to get the top of the sock down past their knee! granted, they got a little frustrated and fussy, but overall, my mind was at ease and i didnt lose half as many socks as before. GOOD LUCK!

I have this same problem with my 18 month old, I purchased a pack of socks from Wal-Mart, they were in the plastic bag in the infant/toddler section and if I remember correctly there were 6 in a pack and I got the pack that where girlie colors but they also had them in boy colors, they are the ones that you are supposed to fold down the top so they are an ankle sock but when folded down I found them to be to tight on her ankle so I leave them unfolded. Because the top are tighter than most socks she is not able to get them off. I love them, I actually need to get more. I think they were Faded Glory, they were Wal-Marts brand and I am almost positive it is Faded Glory and the were $5 or $6 a pack. Good luck
I had the same problem with my son and we tried a product called Baby Legs. They are really cute leggings for boys and girls that are footless, so they go over socks and the elastic band at the ankle makes it really tough to pull off those socks. Plus, it keeps their legs warm in the winter. I own a few pairs. The website is http://www.babylegs.com/.
In the baby section at Target, they have soft "shoes" with elastic around the top - not enough to cut off circulation, but tight enough that the baby can't get them off. I paid $30 for a pair online & then saw those at Target - wish I had seen them first! :o)

Hi - I had the same problem so I found pantihose in BabiesRus - and it's always there :)So he learned he can't take it off and even when he is with socks - he stopped trying. In the rear cases when he gets them off, I try to put it back and he doesn't want me to - I let him stay without socks for 5 min - and his feet get cold. So I go there - make my surprised face: "Oh - your feet are cold - let's put the socks on" - and then he's fine and doesn't take them off.

Ever since my daughter was an infant, I've used the Carter's bubble socks. You can get them at the Carters Outlet or Kohl's. She is 2 now & can barely get them off.
and I know everyone else is recommending Robeez but I didn't like them. I didn't get any type of shoe for my daughter until she turned one & started walking but we had Pedipeds. I thought they were cuter.
Like almost everyone else said, Robeez are perfect for keeping socks on little feet. Bobux is another brand that works great. I have pairs of both brand names as well as the Target brand of them (I think they're called Mini Star, but I'm not sure), and the Target brand works just as well for less than half the price. My son is a sock/shoe/pant magician if he doesn't feel like wearing something, but he can't get those shoes off!
With my oldest daughter, it was a matter of finding the "right" sock that fit her properly; turned out to be an anklet from KMart. With my middle daughter when she was that little, I again had to find the "right" sock for her, which was Old Navy or Target with the size in grippies on the bottom. With my 3rd daughter, I finally bought Robeez, and wondered why I hadn't spent the money with the other two! Her "right" sock was the grippie socks, too, and while they stayed on, the shoes helped keep them on. Robeez are washable leather, and come in many designs so us moms can coordinate.
Robeez are perfect for keeping socks on, crawling and light, early steps even outside.
We use the Target brand Robeez type shoes to keep socks on, my 9 month old can't pull those off so the socks stay on.

Try Robeez! It's really hard for them to get them off.
I had the same trouble with my daughter and there was one kind of sock that she was less able to take off -- they had less stretch and folded over and had little bumps around the cuff. They had red and blue and white with trucks for little boys. Also Robeez are the kind of shoes that are really tough to get off. We used them as well. Good luck.
Try Robeez shoes. My older son never was able to get them off and my 7 month old isn't able to either. I love them.
