Hello Mamas,

I am still trying to finish planning my daughter's 8th Birthday party. I may be doing atleast 2 organized games. What have are some good prize ideas for the winners?

TIA - I really appreciate the input.

What can I do next?

Check a craft store or the dollar section at Target. I get lots of craft kits for $1-$3. Or get $5 gift cards to Barnes and Noble, ice cream shop, etc.

I like when my kids bring home things they can eat or do, rather than things that will collect dust. Full size candy bar, gift voucher for ice cream, mini golf, movies or bowling.

Personally, I'd stay away from candy, but I'm a stick in the mud when it comes to doling out even more sugar on top of cake and ice cream at a party.

I do agree with the others who suggest giving something the kids can actually do, and not junk. How about going to a craft store and getting a small craft project the each winner can take home and do on her own? It can be something simple like a beaded bracelet or a woven bookmark or personalize their own glass, something along those lines.

Good luck and have fun!

Really depends-what's the party theme? Co-Ed?
At my kids school all the kids love Pokemon, so some pokemon cards or one of those oversized cards. It's reading month, so a popular book (wimpy kid, captain underpants, or a graphic novel-cartoon book). They also love smencils so a few of those. The kids on the soccer team all love Kendama and hackysack.
Why not ask your daughter what's tge rage at her school/in her group. A five below gift card would also be popular.

I generally make the game the prize, like if they went on a dino hunt, the dinos found are the prize. For 8 yr old girls, I agree with lip gloss, nail polish, hair things, craft items, etc.

When my kids were this age, I would give mini frisbees, high bouncing balls, hand held stuffed animals think beenie babies, boxes of crayons, matchbox or hot wheels cars or side walk chalk.

Happy Birthday and have fun planning and executing the plan. Some of these items I could get for a great price and decent quality from Oriental Trading Co.
