C.B.
Hi G.,
I am in ICD parish and I am almost positive that when it comes time for my kiddo to go to school they will not let him in since there is such a long waiting list. Is there space available at St. Pats for him? I hope so. I am not sure how that works. I know that both ST. Pats and ICD have to take St. Gianna members since there is no school. Unfortunately, it is based on siblings, and how much money you give to the parish. (I don't give a lot, so I think I will be screwed on that front!!! (LOL). If not there are several other parishes that you can check out. Assumption on Highway K, and for a longer way out St. Joseph's in Cottleville. (My Parents as Teachers educator is in St. Gianna parish and her son is going to school in the fall. There was no room for him at ICD or St. Pats so she went to ST. Joes. They have registered with the parish that they are sending him to). Usually if the kiddo is not Baptized they can have him go through some kind of child classes like the RCIA and get Baptized on Holy Saturday. Both Godparents do not have to be Catholic. Only one has to be Catholic. You can choose whoever you would like to have as Godparents, as long as one of them is Catholic. My friend did this. She had her father as the Godfater as he is a practicing Catholic, and her sister be the Godmother who converted to Episcipalian. I hope that sets your mind at ease a little about that. I hope that I have helped you out some. If you are looking for a friendly face in the area, you can PM me and we can talk more!
