I tried it for pms and migraines and it didn't help. But that may have been because the product didn't contain the right ingredient.
I found Shaklee's GLA to be a better source.

If there was a simple, over-the-counter, homeopathic cure for sadness - the whole country would be on it. Please don't kid yourself about PPD. Get some professional help. Talk to a counselor. Best of luck.

I took Evening primrose oil when I wasn't on birth control to help regulate my periods. It worked really well, especially after a few months of taking it. I've read it was helpful for many "female-type" issues, although I've never heard it used for depression in general.

For me, getting outside in the sunshine, just taking a 5 minute walk, helped me with my little bout of PPD. Of course, if the person is having suicidal thoughts or anything involving harming someone, don't wait for an herbal supplement to help.

Please talk to your doctor, as soon as possible. PPD isn't anything to mess around with. The sooner you seek help, the sooner you will start to feel better. I didn't like the idea of drugs either, but sometimes they are absolutely necessary, and I'm so glad I asked for help, I feel so much better.

I take EPO at the reccomendation of my gyn for treatment of hot flashes - I have not heard of it for depression.

If you have not seen a dr. - you should. You may have depression, but you could also have a thyroid problem or a hormone imbalance.

You mean Evening Primrose Oil, right?
Well I use it for PMS... which is one of the things its supposed to be good for. It is not an instant cure. It is a natural homeopathic thing... so it can take time to see an effect, or you will not see an effect.
Again, EPO is used for various things... not only moods. I even read somewhere that it can help dry hair.

For me, I think it helps PMS. I usually get real irritable... so I take it. I think it helps... but I must note, that I do not see a TOTAL difference substantially.
Each person being different.

Try research it online... but I assume you did already.

All the best,
Susan
