Can you think of any gift ideas for my siser?
She's almost 40.
Along w/me, helps my dad w/my ailing mom.
Doesn't go out much anymore except for an occasional dinner w/friends.
Watches some tv, uses Netflix, isn't a huge reader, does a little cooking.
I have a few things for her already but thought I'd ask you creative moms for some additional ideas.
TIA

What can I do next?

Maybe a gift of YOU...spend some time with her...have her over for a special dinner...have a girls movie night...get a good bottle of wine to enjoy while you are watching the movies and just have fun together!!
I cannot tell you how it warms my heart to see my grown girls enjoying each others' company!!

Love the idea of taking her out! Go to a concert or something fun she wouldn't do for herself. Manicures/pedicures/lunch out/concert/flea market/cooking class. That way, she gets the gift plus girl time.

A subscription to a magazine.. my guilty pleasure is Entertainment weekly and Vanity Fair.

A gift certificate for her and a friend to go to a nice restaurant.
Or to go to one of those super fancy movie theaters.

A nice watch.

A nice Tote with her monogram.. I am constantly toting stuff in and out of my house with all of my errands I am always doing for everyone.

Maybe the 2 of you can go to a live show or Comedy Club together.

Of curse if she is into it. Mani /pedi, a massage, a facial....

I am also giving Italian Proseco away this Christmas. It is so fun to drink..

A magazine subscription for a recipe/cooking magazine. Sometimes Woman's Day or Better Homes and Gardens has great ideas for recipes and of course, decorating etc.
Something very personal-a scarf/gloves/hat, a blanket, a robe; if you can knit, crochet or handmake scarf, hat or blanket even better.
Does she have a favorite scent, lotion, perfume, t.v. show, color, movie, candy or treat-I would go with something that is personal to her.
Time with you-find out what her fav restaurant and a movie she would like to see and take her to it OR even put a cute card in w/her presents or her stocking and say on it "TIME Spent Together" or "Time w/Me" Your Choice or you could make it a multiple choice where she has to check boxes and hand it back to you.
Some of the best moments I've had with my Sister is spending quality time together. We've went on some min-trips, drives or just chilled out in each other's homes and had dinner and talked. You could be really economical and make her favorite meal and dessert and then take her somewhere too.
Gifts from Sisters are treasured; I can tell you items she got me through the years because I remember and it's from my Sister and I only have one!

I'm 40 and it's hard coming up with things I want when family members ask me. I generally have what I need and any more big "stuff" is just clutter, so the smaller the better.

THIS year, MY sister is most likely giving me those coffee joulies because I'm always complaining about my coffee getting cold before I can finish the cup. They're metal, stone-like things that you put in the cup and they keep the coffee nice and hot. My sis mentioned getting those for our mom and I was like "YES! THAT'S WHAT I NEED MYSELF!!" so I suspect (I HOPE), I'm getting them, too.

Other things I would love, but would never buy for myself:
Diptyque candle in Baies
Gloves that have those touchscreen sensor on the finger so you don't have to take off your glove to use your iPhone, etc.
A really decadent facial moisturizer like La Mer (in my dreams, I know...)
One of those new crockpots where you can sear the meat right in the pot without having to use another one on the stove.
A really good winter coat (I have a ton of cheap jackets, but nothing "good")
A membership to Massage Envy and maybe 3 months worth of prepaid massages (actually, THIS one, I just might get for myself...)

How about a tie blanket. I made one for a friend and she just loved it. They are easy to make and you can find lots of cute material. I use about 2 yards of material for an adult blanket.
