Hey K.,
Is this you???
Love,

My daughter is almost 2 1/2 and I've been told that I need to start looking for preschools now. And that I will need to be on a waiting list for the best ones. I'm a very busy working mom so any thoughts on where to start looking or even HOW to start looking would be greatly appreciated. We're looking to perhaps start preschool after the first of the year.

Red Hill Lutheran School is a wonderful loving enviroment and they have a preschool and K-8.
Hi K.. I'm not a mom in Tustin but I can tell you what I did to find a preschool. Your friends are right. Preschools are in high demand so you have to look at least a year or more before your child starts preschool. The way I looked was first to decide private? or religious? I chose religious. Then academic? or developmental? I chose developmental. Then I called around to narrow my search down. Luckily my sister-in-law had checked schools out (25 of them) and had a clear understanding of what was out there. Also, since I knew what my criteria was it narrowed my search to 3 schools. Then I went to each school, interviewed the directors (asked about curriculum and school philosophy) and sat in on classes. At that time I asked about hours and tuition. Just a note. I'm an educator so I'm very familiar with elementary schools. We are very academic today and we do not do much about developing those pre-school skills- socialization, play, etc. So I urge my friends to select a preschool that is not focused on academics but one that is more about play and learning how to get along with others. Hope this helps. Y.
