Wow, I love the responses you got and will check them out myself!
We live in PV and I'm just now looking at preschools for my 2-year old for next year as he'll be eligible to start in January if we want to.
We toured Notre Dame de Sion a few weeks ago. Pricey(!) but they seem great - montessori curriculum, french lessons as part of the regular schedule and swimming 3 days a week for certain periods a semester. The teachers and staff were amazing during our visit and the friends I know with kids there love it. They have 2, 3, 4 & 5 day weeks, plus half days.
We are very close to Village Presbyterian on 67th & MIssion and have heard wonderful things about it so we will tour there, too. We currently do childcare there on Fridays from 9:30 - 11:30. When we walk past the preschool rooms the kids are always doing something fun and it looks like they love having the kids there and learning is a great experience. Plus, we can walk to it!
At the moment, we are enrolled in Parent's Day Out at Country Club Christian (61st & Ward Parkway) and adore it. I started him there just after he turned one when I was unhappy with the home daycare we were using. Just touring made me feel SO good and I am excited to leave him there each Wednesday knowing he'll be in good hands. They have an accredited preschool there as well, plus a great program called the Transition Class for kids to get used to the structure of preschool. It starts out kind of like PDO but becomes more structured as the year moves on. Both the Transition classes and Preschool classes are doing open houses this week (Wednesday and Thursday) from 9:30 - 11:30. I already know I'm signing my guy up for Transition for this fall and am going to see the classrooms tomorrow. You sign up for either Mon & Wed, Tues & Thur, or just Fri ( but they like to have you there for two days at least), and they are 5 or 6 hours long.
A few of my friends are sending their kids to Ward Parkway preschool (75th and Ward Parkway) next fall. They have 1/2 day classes but you can extend with a lunch bunch and after school program. I think it's only $100/month if you do the morning preschool only!
Another one we are interested in is St. Paul's near Westport. Not in PV, but I've heard good reviews and that it's worth the short drive.
A friend in south PV is sending her daughter to Rolling Hills next year. I think it's at 95th and Nall or near there, but I don't know anything about it. Her neighbors with 4 kids are very happy with it, though.
I don't know if Countryside Christian in MIssion (SMP and Nall) has preschool, but the friends I have that use it for PDO give it great recommendations.
Sounds like we are all lucky to have such great options!
