I am looking to enroll my daughter in a Pre-Kindergarten program (she misses the cut off for kindergarten by a week). We are just moving to Arlington Heights so I am wondering if anybody can recommend a program. Thanks!

What can I do next?

We love Village Preschool. It is across the street from North School Park downtown. The teachers there are so kind and gentle. They have a 4 day a week program for kids who miss the cut off. Ginny Elmer is the director. The number is ###-###-####. My third will be starting there this year.
Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood!

Methodist on Euclid has a wonderful 4-day program for kids who miss the cut-off. My two both went there for three years each. Only local preschool that is NAEYC certified. It pulls from a bunch of different neighborhoods, so the kids wind up having friends at their grade school and others the following years. This has been a huge plus for us, as our girls have become more involved with park distict and dance programs - they always know someone in the class (usually from proeschool). Methodist also has a full playground for "outside time" on warm days which is not the case for some other local programs. Kids can also stay for lunch, Spanish, Kindermusic, or additional play time. ###-###-####.
good luck and welcome!

I found this post and was curious about kindegarten options? What if both parents work full time? What does one do for full day kindegarten? It seems to me there is only a part-time option and the school district only offers before OR after school care and not both. We are moving from Chicago to Arlington Heights and it seems we would have to find care for part of the day and since we do not know anybody in town, that will be difficult. And I am a paranoid mother as I am sure many of you are. I am sorry for hijacking this thread but I thought those that responded about pre-K may know of any full time K options? I still drivemy 3 year olds to pre-K in Chicago with me because I work in Chicago but want to start looking into grade K now. Thank you so very much!
