Kids are Kids is good. Waiting lsit is long though.
I am looking into preschools for my son. Does anyone have any information, good or bad, on: La Petite Academy (Mapledale Drive, Tampa) or Kids R Kids (either Collier Pkwy, or Westchase)? Thanks for any info you can provide, I'm in the beginning stages of looking and am scheduled for an open house but would like any "inside" info I can get.

I have not had any experience with the Mapledale school, but I do know that Lake Madgalene preschool that is located behind Lake Magdalene Methodist Church on Fletcher is wonderful. I know one of the former teachers there and my granddaughter attended there, and absoutely loved it. If you can get you child in there you would not be disappointed. I know there used to be a waiting list, but you would have to call and check.
I do not know anything about those schools but I am also a Montessori mom and cannot say enough about a MOntessori program. Your children actually learn at these young ages. I have a 2 & 4 year old son that have been at Montessori Early Learning Center in Carrollwood for almost a year and my son (who was 3 at the time) read his first word right beofre Christmas. I love the curriculum and my boys LOVE their school!
Montessori based programs are leaps and bounds ahead of the rest in my opinion.
Hello A., Here are my top picks for your children age groups based on the curriculum and owner/director/teachers' credentials;
1. Montessori
2. Kids R Kids
3. Primrose
Countryside Montessori Academy on Carson Drive (right off LOL Blvd) is an awesome school. The classes are small with a Montessori certified teacher and an assistant in every classroom. They actually learn things here instead of it just being a daycare. It is hands on, as Montessori is supposed to be. It is a great beginning to a child's education. My daughter was very happy here!
