Hi everyone -

My 5 year old is graduating from preschool and his school does a fun cap and gown ceremony. I have relatives visiting from out of town that same weekend and we thought it would be fun to do something the night of the graduation. Rather than be stuck in a chair at a restaurant we thought we would do something my 5 year old would enjoy. Bowling won't work because of the date but I was hoping someone knew of something else we could do. Maybe a local place we could make sundaes, or somewhere else that is fun for kids and adults. We live near downtown San Jose but don't mind driving. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would go miniature golfing! Golf land would be perfect! You can all play together as a family, you eat there, and get ice cream too! They also have an arcade. It's a perfect little person activity, and everyone usually has a blast! Don't keep score, it keeps the fun going a lot longer! There's a Golf land in San Jose, right off of Blossom Hill rd. and Winfeld. It's much better than a restaurant, and you can be outdoors! It's a lot cheaper than a restaurant too!

A little about me:

I am happily married to my best friend, and I am stay st home mama to 4 beautiful little boys ages9,6, and twins that are 4. I love to cook, sing, hike, camp, and spend time with family and friends!

Hello, My 6 year old graduates kindergarten and I asked her.. She told me that she would like to go have pizza at chuck-E-Cheese and for me to take the off and hang out with her all day. I too work full time and have noticed that the one on one time with that child means the world to them.

So my suggestion to you is ASK him, he will tell you what he wants to do.

I was going to suggest Chuck E Cheese too. I don't like the one on Kooser because they sell Beer. I don't think any type of alcoholic beverages should be sold at any place that is designed for people under the age of 21. The adults can go a couple of hours without drinking beer. I just did not want my child around about alcohol because I don't drink.

You can keep an eye on child at the one on Tully.

But the main thing is what do you think your child would want to do. Ask your son.

Well one idea that I think would be fun for him would be Chuck E Cheese. The one on Kooser is smaller than the one on Tully so it would be easier to find him if he runs off. Again it would be fun for him, not so sure about the adults though.

Sundaes sound great! Put all the fixin's on a table in the back yard, pull out the lawn chairs for guests, and let the kids put on their swimsuits and run through the sprinklers. N.

Why not try putt-putt golf? It is something that kids of all ages can enjoy, even if you are not very good at it and 5 years old is plenty old to go and have fun.

Enjoy these little special moments - they grow up all too fast.
