Hi Moms,

My husband and I have tickets to take my daughter to a Taylor Swift concert in a few months. I will be 7 months pregnant. Should I go or send someone else with them? We are sitting in the middle section so we are not super close. Have any moms had experience with this?

Thanks

What can I do next?

I went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd when I was 8 months pregnant. I was about 13 or 14 rows back. I was fine and so is my almost 15 year old. Go and have a great time.

Pregnancy is not a disease. You will manage and have a good time. I went to pro-football games pregnant in the 9th month and ran out on the field at the end of the game with the rest of the crowd.
You will be just fine.

Go and have fun. It will be one of those markers in life later when your baby is 15 and Taylor Swift is even way more famous and you can tell your child how you took them to the concert way back when. If it was rock or heavy metal Id worry about the noise and vibration, but not with this concert. Funny tho, I went to see Gordon Lightfoot when I was 8 1/2 months pg with my son. I fell asleep. (o:

That's so funny! I had the same fear. No worries, though. My doc said I was just fine to go to a concert (before I talked to her, I would literally cover my belly during the really loud parts of movies in the theaters!).

I don't know of any reason not to go unless you don't feel good, like getting swollen from sitting too long or having to go pee too often to enjoy yourself. Otherwise I'd say it's fine to go. You can put it in the babybook that her/his first concert was Taylor Swift invitro.

I agree with Grandma T...
If you aren't well enough to go or you have to stand for long periods and that's a problem, then stay home.
Otherwise, I think you should be fine going to the concert.
Your baby might hear the music, but it will be muffled by your belly, the layer of your uterus and the fluid it's living in. Your baby in utero won't get hearing damage. That's just my opinion.

I think this would be a wonderful thing to do with your daughter before the baby is born as it might be more difficult for a while after you have the baby.
I'm assuming your older daughter is of the age where she will remember this fondly.

Unless you just aren't up for it, I see no reason not to go.

Best wishes.
Let us know when the baby arrives!

If you can go then go. Your little one gets everything muffled in the belly. The only thing is if you are sitting you may get stiff so be prepared to get up to move when necessary and also depending on the seating it may be hard to stand up and not feel dizzy ( one of our arena's makes me feel like I am going to fall when standing in the aisle) My hubby took me to a WWE show when I was about 7 or 8 months along. My daughter would kick me when all the loud music and fireworks would come on. I would stand as long as I could, and sit when I needed to. The only strange effect I have ever noticed is that my daughter really seems to like hard rock now as an 8 year old. On a side note the same was with Chris Isaak too. I listen to his music constantly when pregnant and his crooning voice would sooth her colicky self ( old wives tales, but I still find it funny) So go have fun.

I would go. It's a seated section and since it's Taylor Swift, I'm assuming it will be fairly tame. If it was a rock concert with lots of moshing and smoke or standing only, I would probably say you should stay home.

Go have a good time. After the baby is born, it won't be so easy to go to concerts. It also won't be so easy to have alone time with your husband. :)
I don't understand what the issue is.

I was at the rodeo working and at concerts up until 5 days before I delivered. I now have a very happy and healthy 2+ year old. As long as you feel ok and are not having problems getting around and walking you should be fine.

I went to the circus when my second was 8 months along and she LOVED it! Danced inside my belly the whole time. Literally you could see her moving around with the circus music.
Fast forward 15 years and she is still my circus child. She has been the most active of the three, a dare-devil and the most physically accomplished. It all comes easy to her! Mobile at four months (she rolled), walking at 8 months, running at 8 months and 1 week. Climbed everything and now masters every sport she tries.
So just be warned-you may be setting yourself up for a future pop star!

You should be able to go as long as you're feeling up to it. It won't harm the baby in any way, if that's what you're asking. The baby will be well insulated from sound so it won't harm the baby's ears or anything.

I went to concerts while pregnant and had no problems. As long as your seat is comfortable, go for it.

I went to shows throughout my pregnancy. Go unless you're feeling bad. The only one I had an issue with was a Widespread Panic show we went to where our tix were general admission on the floor -so no seat for me-and the security guards decided they enjoyed smoking so much that they wouldn't enforce no smoking but instead light up themselves! It was horribly smoky and we wound up leaving early. All the other concerts were great though -Rat Dog, Dark Star, Panic at a different venue and several day festivals.

I went to a Robin Thicke concert when I was 8 months pregnant. It was way fun, and I bet the atmosphere at the Taylor Swift concert will be a clean one, so you won't have to worry about smoke and stuff like that. Go for it!

GO! My son's first concert was in uetro (sp) - an early 80's Ted Nugent concert - general admission ... lovely folks all around kept an open circle around me even pushing a drunk guy away after getting on him (LOL - and he left that area apologizing all over!)

I used to worry when I was pregs with my first when I would go on really loud constructions sites where I was required to wear earplugs for my safety, if it would affect my baby. Everything was fine. I think you would be just fine but of course you can ask your dr. My mom went to some concert when she was prego with me , can't remember who though, my hearing is fine;) I am assuming this is your concern? Good luck!

I went to concerts while I was pregnant as well. As long as you have your husband to hang on to while going down stairs, I would say go for it and have fun!

I went to see Jimmy Buffett at The Woodlands less than a month before I had my son. I looked like a whole Hawaiian Island in my Hawaiian print shirt. We sat on the lawn. It was in April, so the weather was nice, not hot like it is now. My husband stayed close while we were walking on the hill to make sure I didn't slip. We got there early, so I didn't have to climb way up the hill. I was fine. I had a wonderful pregnancy with my son, and I had taken that day off, so I sat around the house with my feet up until it was time to go. I say as long as you feel up to it, go. Just take it slow and easy.

You will be fine. I went to see Depeche Mode when I was 7 1/2mo and also to Cats when I was 8mo. My daughter was very active when the music played:) I think she enjoyed it as much as I did.

If you are up to it then go for sure. If you have never been to a Taylor Swift concert then it will be a very special time with your daughter. Taylor Swift is a wonderful role model for girls. Have fun!

I think that you should go. If you are concerned about the loud sounds, place a folded blanket over your belly. That's what I did while in the media room during pregnancy. Once my baby got here, I got him some noise-cancelling headphones for little ears, for when the sound level gets dangerously high.
