Pregnant and Can't Stop Eating!!!

I am currently about 11 weeks pregnant with baby #3. I have been really trying to watch what I eat and eat relatively healthy as I would really like to gain only the recommended 25 pounds. That was, until the last week. I cannot seem to stop eating!! I literally eat and feel totally full and then I am hungry like 20 minutes later! Already today I have eaten a yogurt, a glass of milk, tomato soup with crackers, triscuts and cheese slices, a sweet pickle and 2 pieces of chocolate. Along with my food extraveganza I drank about 32 ounces of water. Thats 1000 calories and its only 11am!! How is this all fitting in my stomach??? Before getting pregnant I ate roughly 1500 calories to maintain my weight. I have gained 3 pounds in the last week and do not want to continue that type of momentum. Anyone have any tips to stave off these hunger pangs?? I know weight gain is necessary so I am not trying to diet or anything but I can't keep eating like this or I will gain 100 pounds with this pregnancy. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

It will pass. Right after I lost my nausea from the first trimester I felt like something clicked in my body & I wanted to eat everything in sight (which was strange b/c my stomach strangely embraced it instead of feeling full), but it didn't last long-maybe a week or two. Just try to keep busy & keep your mind off of food & when you do get your binge cravings try to keep it healthy, like apples, celery, salads, so it really doesn't matter how much you eat. Oh & try to eat more bran so your stomach feels full (Great Grains in the morning helps me).

Are you sure you're not pregnant with TWINS? (: JK!!! I fealt the EXACT same way! Everyone made fun of me. At my second OB appointment my doctor told me to SLOW down. I was so,ooo embarresed... I did continue to gain weight until I was about 26 weeks and then it tappered off and so did my extreme hunger! Good luck... I ate protein and carried around cereal bars to help with the hunger pains. Good luck Jamie...hang in there and don't worry too much about the weight thing. (:

Don't know if this will help YOU or not but I would always try to think in terms of my child, actually saying to myself "I've only got 4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days etc to give my child the best start possible in life....I will NOT start this child off with a liability"....and then continue to have someone serve as an accountability partner with you... you CAN do this!

I'm having the same problem! I'm at about 13 weeks now and I've already gained about that many pounds. My morning sickness has not let up yet, and eating makes me not feel so sick. Let me know if you get any advice that works!

I feel the exact same way! I am just 9weeks and this just started in the last few days. It is miserable because no matter what I eat, I still feel hungry! I'm hoping this is just a phase. Best wishes to you!
