Hi, I have been on birth control for years. I only get my period every 3 months bc of it. So, I will have my period in another month.

I think I have been having pregnancy symptoms but am not completely sure. One day I will feel fine and not think that Im pregnant and then other days I am worried I could be.

I have taken many home pregnancy test and all have been negative.
I took another home pregnancy test the other day that was positive, so I have taken 3 more since then and they have been negative.

Im just not sure what I should do. Ive ready that in some women its very hard to pick up the HCG hormone

What can I do next?

blood test from dr is only positive way to confirm or deny. Just me, but I think that a birth control that only lets you have a period every 3 months can't be good on your body. MOST women don't even have pregnancy symptoms, so please don't rely on that!

I would def go see a doctor. A blood test will tell the truth. If you think you are also start acting like you are so that if you really are you will already be protecting you and your baby. If you ever need to talk to someone let me know. :) Good luck!

False negatives are more common than false positives. That being said, four false negatives is a lot. If you can afford to I would make an appointment with your doctor for a blood test.

I would go get a blood test to be 100% sure. I found out I was pregnant at 10 weeks. I was having sick headaches and didn't think I was pregnant b/c I didn't have them w/my other 3. I never took a pregnancy test though and now I wished I did b/c I took TONS of migraine meds for 3 months. I was breast feeding and taking a one hormone birth control pill and I took the same thing for 2 years w/my first daughter and never got pregnant.
Good Luck!!

A blood test would put an end to the mystery...if you are pregnant, then most likely you would get an ultrasound to determine how far along you are, especially since you don't have the regular monthly periods due to your BC. Good luck!

Stop taking your birth control immediately until you are sure you are not pregnant! I agree with a blood test.

I agree with going to the doctor and getting a blood test. In the meantime, try and take a pregnancy test first thing in the morning when your urine is more concentrated. If you ARE pregnant, but not very far along, your hormone levels may not be enough to register a postive test just yet, especially throughout the day when it hasn't built up in your urine. Also, I agree with a previous poster - false negatives are more common than false positives. Good luck!!!

Dear B.,
Birth Control is a funny thing. The biggest thing it does is in some ways it 'mimics' pregnacy so your body is fooled into thinking it's already pregnate so it changes your cycles so you don't become pregnate. It's also not 100% effective either. If I were you I would go to the doctor, either your primary care or your obgyn, and explain what's going on to them. It's really the safest way to find out if you really are pregnate, and he will be able to tell you where to go from there and what to do, depending on what your results are. It can be very dangerous to an unborn child for you to be on birth control if you are in fact pregnate, so I would get into the doctor asap and find out what's going on with your body. It will also help with your peace of mind. I hope this helps!

I had the same problem, kinda, I have been off birth control for a year and a half and had a few fauls calls I guessed I couldnt have kids anymore untill I got a DNC from my miscariage. I was late but I figured it was because it was from the strssful times we were having. I took 4 home tests and all said no. One more yes one more no. I forgot about it for 2 weeks an still didnt start so yesterday I just walked into the health dep. and got them to run a test. Turns out I am 8 weeks. So I would say, go to the Dr. They are more likely to give you the answer. Blood tests dont lie. Good luck! :)

I'd say its time to visit your ob/gyn. they can do the blood test and be more sure. In any case they can talk to you about your situation with birth control.

good luck

I would quit taking my birthcontrol and go see my doctor. I have always heard you can have false negatives but not a false positive. So I would for sure make an appointment.

Good Luck!!!!
