I am not familiar with that shot, but my doctor told me 2 weeks overdue is usually when they will induce you. Being a little late is always better than early! Good luck!
If anyone is taking Hydroxyprogestrone shots, would you happen to know some of the signs that are not normal? This is my first yr with them and my doctor wants to stop them at 36 weeks I am worried I might pass my due date if that is possible. I have had two pre term babies already.
Well, I am 30 weeks now still having a lot of pelvic pain and contractions here and there. But I am due into the Doctors Office on Monday for my routine checkup and injection. I will ask him to check me to make sure I am not dilating already. I have a gut feeling I am. But thank you all for your words of wisdom. I too get the itchness and red at the location of injection and too my doc says its normal. Two more weeks and I will past the time frame from my last baby boy. That will be a blessing.

I get the injections on a weekly basis. I too was told that my last injection would occur at my 36th week depending on my condition (dialated or having contractions). I've had two pre-term deliveries also. When are you due?
I had steroid shots when I went into labor early. They were given to develop my babies lungs faster incase I delivered too early (I went into labor at 30 weeks). I was on the tribulaline pump to stop my labor and finally delivered at 36 weeks. Everything turned out great with the baby, he was 7 pounds!!! Good thing I didn't go full term. LOL! Labor on the other hand sucked. I pushed and pushed and pushed and them had a C-section. LOL Not doing that again! This ones good enough for me!
i'm also on the shots due to a previous 30 week delivery. i don't think it will impact any of the normal symptoms of labor. i will say that i think i am getting some sort of allergic reaction ot the shot b/c the skim is really itchy and lumpy at the injection site. but that's the only side effect so far (i've been getting them for about 6 weeks now). the research i've seen is mixed -- some studies show that it has no impact; but anecdotal evidence suggests that it is very effective at preventing PTL. i figured it was worth a try!
I took them while I was pregnant with my daughter. I had twin boys that came at 25 weeks so when I got pregnant with my daughter my ob dr wanted to make sure I made it as far as I could. If this give ya any help or eases your mind at all, my water broke at 36 weeks. the night before I was suppose to be taking my last shot. I had my daughter via c-section at midnight (my boys were born via c-section so we just went that route again). So we were excited to have made it 11 weeks past my previous delivery of 25 weeks and got to bring the baby home when I was released. Only thing different that I had with my last pregnancy compared to my first was I had heart palputations which my dr told me was very normal.
I also wanted to add that the spot('s) of where I had the injections did get irritated and itchy as well. But again, my dr told me it was normal. I had also with my twin pregnancy had progestrone shots in the beginning to keep them put and I had the same reaction to those shots.
