I am looking for a pre-school to start my daughter in a young 5's type program next year. Her day care currently does have a She will attend Davisburg elementary in two years, so I was thinking it would be nice to find something in that school district. She currently is day care full time and that includes a pre-school curriculum, I just really want to take her to the next level next year. Most of her current friends through day care will go to Clarkston Schools, so I am not opposed to that either especially since we then could arrange transportation to and from together.

What can I do next?

I would recommend Crosshill Community Preschool in Davisburg for a young 5's program. The preschool is located in the Davisburg United Methodist Church in downtown Davisburg. Phone number is ###-###-####. The preschool has been in business for over 30 years. It is a non-profit community organization, not a part of the church, but uses the church facilities. Contact Lin Harpootlian, director for more information. V. O.

As another poster recommended, I would highly recommend Crosshill Preschool. Two of my children attended there, one for 2 years and the other for 1 year. We took them out because we moved and it wasn't convenient.

There is a meeting on feb 28th at the clarkston education center on clarkston rd about the many different preschools in the area and you can talk directly to the schools. I believe it is in the cafeteria. Also, I was just thinking, if you daughter will be 5 by september, shouldn't you think about sending her to kindergarten? Just an idea.

Clarkston has a young 5s program that is fabulous (and free for those in the district). I am not sure what it costs if you are out of the district, but here is their website

Good luck!

R.,

My daughter is in the pre-school 4 program at Everest Academy and then they also have the young 5's and kinder.. through high school, etc. The program, staff, etc is AMAZING. My daughter has been in a few programs and this by far surpasses anything we could have imagined. Her growth socially and academically is insurmountable. Anyway, I highly recommend that you check it out. ###-###-#### is the number and ask for Maura Plante. Great place for your child. I am a counselor and my husband is a teacher in education, so we did a lot of research before sending our child anywhere.

I live in Davisburg, Clarkston schools...I looked at some of the preschools in the area and I liked Funshine (Clarkston schools) My daughter loves the 4's program it teaches her in a fun way.

Also, Springfield Twp Library is hosting a preschool/daycare open house on Monday March 10th. Check out their website.

Most of all you have to go with what you are comfortable with, I spent a couple hours at 5 different schools before I choose the one I was comfortable with.
