H..
My daughter loved to sit on the potty at 14 months also... and when they accidently go pee (especially may happen with water running nearby!), it's hard not to get excited and think they may be ready to start training... But please keep in mind that in order for a child to be ready to potty train, they have to have the muscle control as well as the get-the-message-to-my-brain power to HOLD the pee until they GET TO the potty. HUGE difference between sitting on the toilet and making it come out, and sitting in the living room playing PLUS feeling the urge to go PLUS holding it until you get your pants down and your butt on the seat!!
Lots and lots of people use the seperate potty seat... but I am a mother of 3 who thinks the potty seats are disgusting and unnecessary... It's an extra step for the child to have to learn to transition to the big toilet, and it's an extra step for you to have to clean and sanitize that gross thing every single time they use it! Plus, what do you do when you're out in public and they have to go on the huge scary toilet when they are used to the teeny potty seat??? I used the cushy seat for my kids, and they sell a fold up plastic one you can stick in your purse for public toilets... Good luck, and please don't rush her! It is sooooo much easier to change diapers than to deal with the messes you'll get daily from a child in panties who isn't ready (don't get me started on how unnessesary Pull Ups are-- I think it takes longer to potty train with them, and they are expensive. I do the cold turkey potty training- once we decide to start, no more dapers except at night time!)
