Hi there moms! Ok, here's my delima. I'm planning my daughter's 4th birthday party. She loves the water so I'd like to have her party at a pool. Problem is, we dont have one. I thought about asking an apartment complex if we can rent their pool but I dont know how that would go since we wouldnt be a resident. I've also checked into the YMCA. They wanted over $150 for just an 1 hr 15 minutes in the pool. That would be just enough to make the kiddos mad. Are there any other ideas? Why does planning a birthday party have to be so difficult...

What can I do next?

If you really want to have it at a water park.. why not go to Bedford Splash at the Boys Ranch. It's like $6.50 per adult and like $5 per kid and wee little ones are free... just bring your food or buy it there and just have a party there w/o renting the entire pavilion area... get there really early and claim a spot... ??? just a thought if you're dead set on having at a pool

The Keller Pointe has an awesome party package. They provide everything from the cake to the goodie bags. You get the party room for a certain amount of time, but you are free to use the facilities (indoor and outdoor pools) for the entire day. Great for your guests. They can go when they get ready and check in at the front desk as guests and they are in for as long as they like. It is a great place and a spectacular value.

I just want to recommend that where ever you choose, please make sure you have a life guard, even if you have to hire one on your own. I know there will be a ton of adults, but they can often get engaged in conversation. It is good to have one person dedicated to just watching the pool at all times, and that is there only job. I just heard of a 7 year old drowning at a church party and the mom was right in the water talking to someone else. Just my input.

I have to nominate the Keller Pointe as well. My four year old just had his b-day party there and we all had a blast. We just did the regular party package which was $165 and they did the cake, punch, gift bags, clean up, set up (pretty much EVERYTHING). I know if you are willing to spend more money you can rent their entire pool, but I know it's quite expensive. The only thing I didn't like about his party was that you only get the room for one hour, so you don't have anywhere to really set your stuff unless you get their early enough to snag a table. Otherwise, everyone has to tote their gift bags and belongings around while trying to get in the pool. Just something to think about if you do decide to go with them. Good luck!

Hi,

There is a great pool in Grapevine - The Pleasant Glade Pool - it is off of Hall Johnson. They have a regular lap pool as well as a great kids pool - the kid's pool is just the right depth that the kids can play and swim and you can feel comfortable and even relax some! My kids (girls 5 & 4) love it! We had my daughter's 4th birthday party here and have attended 3 others here as well as lots of weekend days as a family!! Everyone loves it. The cost to reserve a covered picnic table is $10 per hour and then we paid for entry for the party guests ($1.50 each) - I found it very reasonable and lots of fun for everyone. You can go to the City of Grapevine website and look under Parks and Recreaton then Aquatics to get the number to call and reserve. The website refers to renting the whole pool but you can call the number and just reserve a table also. Hope this helps.

I second the Bedford Splash! I took my daughter and little sister there and they both LOVED it! I checked it renting an area out for my daughter's 3rd birthday coming up Sept 1 but they said that is their last weekend open for the season and it being Labor Day weekend, they won't rent any spaces out for parties. But just like the other lady said, you could have it early and "claim" a spot. I think that would definitely work! Also, Hurst has 2 aquatic centers that were both really cool too! But they are all 3 closing soon so depending when your party is...may or may not still be open. Good luck and hope this helps!

You should check into Rec centers in the area. I know for sure you can rent the Keller Pointe's pool. Roanoke and Hurst also have pools.

Call the RAC at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, they rent out the pool for party's on Saturdays. It's indoor, but big and nice and a little sand area outside. I can give you the number just PM me later.

Have you tried Aquakids on Heritage Trace Parkway? I am not sure the cost or how much time they get to swim, but it might be worth checking into.
