I had this. My doctor had me induced....between this and my daughter being larger, he induced me 9 days early. My understanding is that the biggest issue is the cord prolapsing if your water breaks on it's own, because of the sudden gush of fluid. He was more cautious when he broke my water. And I could definitely tell that I had more fluid this time around than my first pregnancy. They did have me "prep" for a c-section before I came to the hospital with a medicated wash, but they swore it was just an extra precaution. It made me a little nervous, but I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth...on the second push we were done. :)
