Poddy Training Ideas for a 3 Year Old

Our daughter turns 3 in a couple weeks and absolutely refuses to use the poddy. I have 2 other daughters that went right to it...but this one is a stubborn one. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get her interested. I would have thought her older sisters would be an inspiration - but apparently not. I have to get her trained by Sept 2 to enter pre-school!

What can I do next?

I have seen posts on this as well as saw her on Oprah and the Today Show. BootyCamp.com. She lives in West Chicago and has an amazing success rate. She also guarantees training in a very short amount of time...usually like 2-3 days.

Hi S.! I used " Toilet Training in Less Than A Day"
by Dr. Nathan Azrin - IT REALLY WORKED! My daughter is pretty stubborn and set in her ways, so I was very scepticle. But i actually DID potty train her in 1 day! (Actually, it only took me about 6 hours). Get the book!!

Good Luck!
E.

I am in the process of TRYING to potty train my 32 month old--she started about 8 months ago but got a cold & stopped---I just took out the Elmo Potty dvd from the library & she seems pretty interested in that & I have an Elmo Potty--so that is the avenue I am using---we'll see how it goes...some people have suggested I use m & m's or individal chocaolte chips (ie 1=trying/sitting on potty, 2=going pee pee, 3=going poo poo)I will see if she will do it without the chocolate first, but will resort to it if need be. These are the best steps I have heard of & I told her this weekend we are going to pick out big girl underwear---maybe that will motivate her!

Hi S.,
Do you have a potty routine/schedule/reward system set up? For our son we set up a reward system. It went like this; one sticker for coming into the bathroom, one for taking off his pants, one for sitting on the potty for 1 minute, one for helping to get his pants back on and one for washing his hands. We did this 4 times a day for 2 months just so we could get him used to the mechanics of using the potty. When he got all 5 stickers he could have a cookie. If he refused to do any of the things we asked him to, he didn't get a sticker and at the end of potty break if he didn't have 5 stickers he didn't get a cookie. There were a few days that were pretty hard because he wouldn't cooperate and therefore didn't get the cookie, but we were quick to point out that that was his choice.
After two months of that we started putting him in underpants when he woke up putting him on every hour or so. He learned probably within 2 days that if he didn't go on the potty his pants would get all gooey.
Then I got a bunch of dollar store toys and wrapped them up and told him that when he did pee or poop on the potty he could have a present. That worked awesome. We did that for about two weeks and then we moved to M&M's. Most times though, he doesn't even want a treat. He's just happy and proud of himself that he did it.
I think the secret is to not push, but to be firm and praise, praise, praise. I hope that helps!
blessings,
J.
