I also gave up on lane bryant. I now go to Ross in their plus size or the VF factory outlet. Both places carry a large plus size and the prices are not crazy but the jeans are still stylish! Good luck!
Hi everyone,
I was a Lane Bryant devotee for a long time, but the jeans won't work for me anymore. The new cuts and "right fit" styles don't fit me the way the old "classic" jeans did. I'm down to one pair of jeans, which is ripping in all the wrong places. So I need a replacement store to shop for plus size clothing that's stylish and flattering, plus not too expensive. All suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks,
Sarah

I have found Kohl's and JcPenney's to have the most "hip" Plus Size clothing. My sister-in-law likes Dillards and Macy's. She only shops the sales at these stores and finds clothes for under $5 all the time.

Try Fashion Bug or Avenue. They both tend to have good sales!

I see cute clothes for plus size at Fashion Bug all the time. I am not plus size so I don't know how they fit, but they are very stylish.
ROSS...ROSS...ROSS...ROSS..
I'm a plus size mom and I shop at Ross, they have reasonable prices for their clothes.
I shop Avenue. They are the only place that I can fine jeans. Good Luck
I LOVE Deb Shops in Fiesta Mall!! You can get anything from jeans to formal wear there. They have clothing to fit all shapes and sizes at a fraction of the cost of what you would spend at other plus size shops. There are other locations just go to www.debshops.com and search for the location closest to you.
Hi. Don't you just hate it when you find a product that works and they "improve" or discontinue it? Jeans are the worst.
I find that Catherine's has a good line of jeans with that same "right fit" promise. You might try them. I find the best jeans at Macy's. They have a line of plus size, dark indigo wash, stretch jeans that I love. They've carried them forever and I just bought another pair last week. Not too pricey. Good luck.
Hi,
I shop at a store called CATO by the Walmart on Valley Drive in Las Cruces. There's also a store in the mall by Pennies. I can't remember the name but it's right in front of the mall entrance.
Have you tried Macy's?
I also love the Avenue. I have 4 pairs of their jeans. Sign up for the email list for great savings. I recently bought 1 t-shirt type top, 2 pairs of flip flops, and two necklaces for $18! They also send a birthday coupon. I bought two dresses yesterday for $30 (I had a 25% coupon, plus they were on sale. Regular price was $116!)
I've also found some things at Wal-Mart that are good quality and not too expensive.
I know how frustrating it is, especially post-baby! Good luck!
FYI- Fashion Bug is Lane Bryant's discount store!
www.mizrak.com
or they are on ebay too.
Catherine's and Fashion Bug are local.
I love the Avenue. If you sign up for their mailing list you can get coupons. There is also a coupon in the Entertainment Books if you have one of those. My one advice at the Avenue is NOT to pay full price for things. They are always having sales and tons of clearance items. If it's a real clothing emergency I'll pay full price but if you can wait a bit, try to.
I like Kohl's for certain items... never tried their jeans though. Personally, I find Fashion Bug sizes run small and I rarely find anything there.
Another option is Jessica London online- but with jeans I'm sure you want to try them on (I know I do!).
I hope you find something that works- I agree..... if you find a good one you like, buy 2 or 3 if you can afford them!
Fashion Bug. Once I tried Fashion Bug I never went back to Lane Bryant.
HI S., I'm plus size too and find a lot at Ross and Fashion Bug. I'm pear shaped and have a hard time finding pants that fit correctly. When I do find a great pair, I buy 2-3 of them so I have them! Good luck!
Hi Sarah! Wow, I'm glad you posted this question because I got lots of good ideas! The one place I love to shop is Torrid, there are several of them throughout phx. My favorite is the one at the new San Tan mall, They have a huge wall of clearance and the staff is second to none. I usually only shop their clearance and have a ton of luck. Check them out online.
I occasionally find some cute things at Walmart, but it depends on the location. Some of them hardly have any plus size and others have a great variety. Target's plus size clothes has no shape and tents around me. I haven't had luck with them at all. I also just discovered Ross, and I have to say, I've found all my business clothes there. Love it!
Oh, and try Goodwill! You never know what you might find there!
Hi Sarah! If you live in Phoenix try Torrid! They have very stylish plus size clothing and it is not too overly priced. Generally u can find good deals. It is located at the Arrowhead mall in glendale :) Good Luck!
I'm not sure which plus size you are looking for, but Gap carries up to a 16 in the stores and up to a 20 online.
Have you tried fashion bug?
Norstrom carries plus size...but expensive, so try a Nordstrom Rack for better deals.

For my fluffyness I shop Torrid, JcPenny, Wet seal (on line only)& Old Navy (on line only) I found that if you go try on your size & then go home & shop online it is much more affordable. I shop there clearance online & wow prices are so much cheaper. I bought a $30 shirt (I seen in store) went online & pd $7.99 for it.. Plus of course walmart has some cute & Target too (just have to look hard at target)
At the Arizona Mills mall, there's an Eddie Bauer Outlet...it is the best for plus sizes. This time of year you should be able to pick up a great pair of jeans for under 10 dollars. I've been plus for most of my 42 years of life. I now live in the woods and have to shop online for most everything. I'm also tall....so LLBean, Cabelas, and Eddie B are my only sources for jeans that fit and look good. I get compliments on how the LLBeans look, but don't have an outlet close. All the best! K.
oops, one more thing, the Nordstrom's bottom of the line outlet is in Phoenix, at the Colonade Mall, down stairs. Its 1919 E. Camelback Rd. You might find them for under $5, but its a hit and miss kinda store. If they don't have it one day they'll have it the next. Also have great shoes at great prices and adorable kids clothes. Love the place!
