Please Recommend a Good Exterminator

I don't know what county you live in, but I'm in Santa Clara County. When I had a problem with rodents I called Vector Control which is a county agency. Search for them on the internet. For FREE they sent someone out who came over and did an inspection of the outside of my house. She was able to tell me where I needed to put up screening (or steel wool) to keep the critters out and lots of other good info. Her big point was that first I needed to seal up the areas where the rodents can enter the house, and then, if necessary I could try to trap them (in my case they were in the attic.) So far, the sealing up the critical areas solved the problem so I haven't had to trap any.

I'd start with that. I think other counties probably have similar services.

We use Big Valley Termite in Pleasanton. They're very friendly and good customer service. Just started using them cause of ant problems, but they did check to see if we had mice and determined that they were long gone. (did not get charged for them to check about the mice). Good luck!

Seal / stuff their holes with steel wool pads (located in the cleaning section at the store). They are unable to get through. Also use traps to exterminate the ones that already got in.

Apple Tree pest service in Livermore. The owner is the one doing the work so he does a GOOD job. He guarantees his work. He is an honest Christian man too.

I had my house mouse proofed by a handy man. He took a can of this stuff that you spray and it poofs up like mousse for your hair then hardens. He said only the black spray works on mice and rats because they don't like to naw through it because they don't like the taste. He went around my house and filled every hole they could climb into. I've been mouse free for over a year now.

We've lived in several Bay Area cities and always had good service with Terminix and Orkin.
