has anyone found a way to make those darn plastic dress up shoes not so slippery??? My DD is alawys falling in them on the hardwood floor. I thought about cutting and gluing some of that rubberized rug no slip stuff on the bottom but thought that may trip her up even worse. Any ideas? BTW i HATE HATE HATE these kinds of shoes.
We have some of those too. Another thing we do for dress up shoes - because I have 2 girls- is buy really cute shoes at yard sales that have little to no wear a few sizes too big or in the clearance section at Walmart or Target. Target has great sales at the end of the season....usually $2 a pair.
In the shoe department they sell grip pads for the bottom of heels. I have also taken rough grit sandpaper and sanded on the bottoms of shoes to create more grip. I can see the glued on rug nonslip material working. I know they sell a tape variety too. Good luck.
buy old shoes at garage sales and glitz them up a bit for her. Or use worn out shoes.
Double sided tape on the soles of the shoes should help or maybe wearing them outside on the pavement to scuff the soles.
The ones my GD had had like a non-slip thing on the ball of the shoe. I HATE, HATE, HATE those shoes too! My GD loved to put them on and them clomp all over the hardwood floors so she could "hear" them. Ugh!!!! I was so happy when she outgrew them. Now she uses my old pumps and they are much quieter!
I had this same problem with my daughter too. But I think she's gotten good in them because she will wear them all around our hardwood floors and never slip. I've even seen her run in them. She's 5 and has had those shoes for a couple of years. I bet she can walk in heels better than I can. ;)
sand paper to the bottom of them - that is what they do with runway model shoes on slippery surfaces - then they repaint them with nail polish! Just a fun tid bit. But yeah, sand paper to rough them up.
Try putting masking tape on the bottom of the shoes it may give them some more stick to the floor.
Growing up I loved those shoes but yes you do stand a better chance of being upright in skates than those little heels. The good news is that you grow out of them fast or just plain old break them fast too.
you can purchase shoe grippers at the grocery, drug store or target.. they are sold wth the Dr. Scholls shoe inserts.. At Target they are sold in the shoe department with the shoes.. with shoe laces ect.
I purchase them and cut them to fit the shoes and heels, I need them for.
