Plastic Princess Shoes for Toddlers

When my girl was little, target had flat heel loafers that were covered in red or gold glitter. Oh man she loved them.

Maybe you could find a pair of flat, inexpensive shoes and glue glitter , plastic gems, and tiny fake flowers on them. Much safer- more special.

My daughter bought some for her daughter and she is 2 1/2 and walks around in them just fine, they are a little big for her but she doesn't have a problem. But then she is so independent she wears her flip flops just fine to. And she loves them.

My daughter has been trotting around in them since she was walking. I can't believe how long they've held up. She's now 3.5 and we are finally down to 2 remaining pairs...2 years of play, I'd say they were well worth the money!

My little girl now 5 has had them since she was three. THe only thing you will need to prepare yourself for is the noise. We call them the "click click" shoes. That's all you wlll hear, "click click", "click click". They were slippery sometimes and she did slip(we have tile in the kitchen and hallway), but the slips weren't so bad as to cause injury. She LOVES them. That's a little girl's dream - to play dress up. I say go for it.

yes we've bought and been handed down plenty of those shoes, and my daughter loves them...sure they my be tricky but the first off step your daughter experiences will slow her down, just remind het "careful", "slow", "you might hurt yourself" she'll enjoy them, i hope, for a long while...as it is to my dismay, as far as the princess shoe department goes, my 3 yr old daughter (the 100% in height and weight, not fat at all... tall average build, wearing 6x clothes) sad to say is nearly outgrowing her plastic princess shoes...rather odd to see perfectly sized little heels on your 3 yr old but she still loves 'em and i don't quite know what to replace them with once they no longer fit. so pick up a pack and let her tap in the kitchen if she hasn't got a pair of those already and clickity clack down the hall or any other hardwood flooring you've got in your home, but i will advise to keep them to indoor play at this age and always away from any stairs.

We have several pairs of the plastic princess shoes. My daughter loves them. She has been wearing them since she she was about 15 months. We have never had a problem with her falling or twisting her ankle. I have even allowed her to wear them to church.

We've all worn them and lived to tell about it, it's part of growing up to hear the snap, snap, snap across the kitchen floor with your plastic princess shoes. I know my sister and I went through several pairs that Grandma would buy us, they don't last long and we didnt break our ankles while wearing them. Kids are much more flexible and bones are softer when little. Give me a pair of those to wear now and I'd probably break a hip! lol

My daughter has had a pair since she started walking because she was wearing them at daycare during dress up. She still has them and absolutely loves them! She has only fallen once wearing them down the steps, so we made a rule that she could not walk on steps in her princess shoes until she was more steady on her feet. Now that she is 4yo, she wears them all over the place and still likes wearing them! Go for it!

We have them for my 2 1/2 year old and she has fallen a million times on our tile, but never had any major injuries.

Hi G.. My daughter so far has scraped her knees, fallen on her face& slipped a million times. We have all hard floors which might not help. My hubby put duct tape on the bottom of the shoes but she still slips. She has just had to learn how to walk in them but yes, they're dangerous! Oh and by the way they break into pieces all the time ...randomly! Every girls gotta have them though ( :

I believe they are ok. My daughter and niece wore them all the time and never got hurt. Thats not to say that it isn't possible. Tell her she can only walk in them no running. Every little girl must have princess shoes and clothes.

My daughter loves her "glass slippers" - the heels are not that high & they have a pretty broad base so the balance is really not thrown off. I have never seen my daughter fall because of the shoes - she has fallen because she has tripped over other things not looking where she was going. In my opinion, it is more dangerous to play dress up with mommy's shoes than it is with shoes designed for little feet.
As for them breaking, toys break if they are "loved extensively" - our shoes have lasted for the most part, the one thing that DOESN'T seem to last are the decorations on the shoes...those get pulled off all the time. The good news is, especially buying them at Sam's Club, they aren't expensive to replace.
However, every child is different. If you notice that your daughter is wobbly or more accident prone because of them, then take them away & give her a different dress up accessory instead (like princess crowns - we have tons of those too!) :) Enjoy your little princess!

The great thing about being so young is that they heal quickly. My daughter Georgina loves her plastic play shoes that we bought at pinkprincess.com. She has fallen a lot but no major injuries. It could be also that our floors are very slippery since we just got them waxed. She looks so adorable when she has on her plastic play shoes and her flower girl dress on. She never wants to take them off.

Instead of the plastic heels you might look at Target. They have different colors of shoes at one time the red shoes like Dorothy in Wizzard of Oz. Sometimes they carry pink shoes like the princesses wear. In Joanne's fabric stores they carry little pink shaws or the fluffy feathers to put around their shoulders for dress up. My little GrandBaby just got a pack of princess shoes. She put them on walked across the floor and they broke. The issue with them breaking is the hard plastic was sharp enough to sever her little foot .
I am now looking into where I report this. Does anyone know how I report toys and where?

I bought some for my 3 yr old daughter from Target. Honestly, at first, she did fall a few times. She got used to them and now wants to wear them everywhere we go. I found that the biggest thing is that they don't have grips on the bottom, so it's slippery if she walks on tiled flooring. She can't run in them, but they're just fine for play time. I was really worried about her twisting her ankle also, but it never happened.

I think it depends on the "Princess" how long they will last :O) I buy them for my neice each month and mail them to her. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES those plastic shoes! I've bought them at the $1 Store, Target, Walmart and everywhere and she loves them all.

I wouldn't worry if the heels break off....your daughter will feel glamorous anyway :O)

You're so lucky! I have boys! Nephews! I have only 1 little neice to play "girl" with :O) And she lives over 5 hours away :O(

My daughter LOVES them, never fell or twisted her ankle. The only, only thing is we have hard wood floors, laminate I believe.. not sure because we rent. Anyways, they often leaves indents on the woods floors. Otherwise my daughter would live in them if we let her!

Just be careful on stairs and slick, smooth floor surfaces. They are good on concrete, so my daughter wore them outdoors and in carpeted areas (protected the hardwood floors for scratches). Never had a problem with the heels breaking off. Never had an ankle injury either.

I wouldn't buy them... Why introduce toddlers to the world of wobbly heels and foot pain? How about just some pretty pink flats?

(I have noticed some moms are making sweeping generalizations about ALL little girls wearing high heels or princess stuff...this is not true.)

Hello G.: Boy did this question take me back a few years to when my daughters were young, and now watching my older granddaughters wear them. But they are 4 1/2 and 5 when we got them and the heels wereshort so not a problem.
They are not going to last long and may not be worht the price-- BUT every little girl likes to play dress up and have fun in them even of for a short while. I have some great pictures of my girls (now moms themselves) wearing them.

I'm with Rae. Get her some shoes she can play in. She should be thinking about having fun, not about learning how to walk in high heels.
