I have decided that I want to get my 2 month old daughter's ears pierced after her first round of shots while she is to young to remember and unable to mess with them. As she is now ready to get her first round of shots I am becoming nervous about the whole thing. At what age did you pierce your child's ears? How did it go? Would you reccomend anyplace in the Surprise, Glendale area? Are the people adequately trained? Did you give tylenol before?

I had both of my girls ears pierced when they were babies. The oldest had hers done at three months of age and the younger at four months of age. They both had it done at the doctors office and both did great (except my older one peed on me-Lol). They are now 6 & 10 and wear mostly piercing studs, which I buy at Sally's Beauty Supply. They have a whole range of colors and shapes, as do we.
If you do decide to get her ears pierced, I would say do not go to a mall store. From what I have been told about the "training" they get is basically a video. Also, they use a piercing gun, and it is not possible to ensure they clean it. Ask doctor, they may know of another place.
You can't get them pierced until she is 3 months old... at least that was the rule when I did my baby's ears. My daughter did great. It is just like she is getting a shot... she screamed when it happened and then when it was over she was fine. I did have people look at me like I was silly for doing it but I wanted it done while she was young since I pulled my out when my mom pierced mine when I was 1 yr old...so i totally would do it as soon as you can but I believe you have to wait 1 more month. I took my daughter to Clare's in the mall and they did great... we lived in Utah at the time though. Good luck!!
I don't remember how old was my daughter when her ears were pierced but as i read other moms suggestions they are right. You should get them pierced early because my daughter gave me so much trouble when her ears were marked for the piercing. It took so much time because she was not allowing the piercing girl to touch her ears. Her ears were pierced in Walmart and my daughter did not face any problem so far.
