We just moved to the Hermitage/Mount Juliet area and are looking for a piano teacher. If you have any recommendations please let me know. I do not mind driving to another area to get them to a good teacher. Also, I home school and would prefer a daytime instructor but evenings will work as well. They have had piano for 2 years.

What can I do next?

There are quite a few good ones in the area. We use Roger Burns, who lives in Willoughby Station in Mt. Juliet, which is where my daughters have their lessons. He also has a piano studio in Hendersonville. He has been teaching piano for a long time and his prices are comparable to others in the area. His phone number is ###-###-####.

Hi, don't know of anyone but, you could call the local churches or maybe the high school band teacher for possible names. I did want to welcome you to the area. I am born and raised in gallatin. Hope you find life friendly here. Best of luck. R. uhls

My husband, Kevin Sanderson-Doughty, has 9 years of piano teaching experience, a bachelor's degree in music education, and a very flexible schedule starting this fall. He is becoming a stay-at-home dad for our soon to be 8 month old daughter. He is planning to build a piano teaching practice in Nashville starting this fall. In our previous home (in northern New York) he had experience working with home schooling families as a teacher during day time hours. Given that we are a distance from you he would be interested in a creative semi-barter arrangement. If you would watch our daughter during the lessons, he would charge for one rather than two lessons. He believes this would even out the travel expense quite fairly. If you are interested in talking with him, or reviewing references, he can be reached at ###-###-####.

Blessings on this time of settling into your new home. We moved here a year ago and well-remember that process!

I homeschool my children also and I belong to a yahoo group where people post used curriculum for sale and more. This came across the other day so I will pass it along. I have never used them so I cannot give a recommendation, only the information they posted. They are located about 15-20 from Mt. Juliet.
