Pen on Couch!! - Piscataway,NJ

Ok so the little one didn't even do this one. I think it was the bf or me leaving an uncapped pen on the couch and then someone must have sat on it without realizing. Tonight I found a nice blue line drawn across one of my couch cushions and they are not the kind that flip over. The couch is micro-fiber and is supposed to be cleaned easily. I rubbed it with a wet paper towel but I'm not sure what else would work. It faded the line, but i can't seem to get rid of it. I don't want to scrub and ruin the fabric. I'm so upset because the couch is brand new (bought it in April) Any tips?

What can I do next?

I recently got a free sample of a product called "InkBgone." This stuff is AWESOME!!! It took Sharpie off my bathroom walls! I think if you go to their Web site, they are still giving free samples. A little goes a long way, so even if you have to pay for a small bottle, it's more than worth it!
Hope this helps!

I have used hairspray for ink pen. I have also used amonia, rags, and a hot iron on carpet when a red marker was left uncapped. Found that on e-how and it worked!!! I couldn't believe it! Be careful and use you judgement about the heat on the couch. Wet stain with amonia, place rag over stain, apply heat over rag. Repeat using clean rag until stain is gone.

spray it with hairspray first then "wash" it with a little bit of Dawn and pat dry. It does wonders on clothes too.

Microfiber cleans easily with soap and water on a clean soft cloth. You don't have to scrub hard. Just gently rub back and forth for as long as the line is getting lighter. Use a cloth. A paper towel will disintegrate and leave lint. Did you try that?

Ball point pen comes out of cloth with hair spray. Try that first on an inconspicuous spot.

aerosol hair spray and a lot of time absorbing it into paper towel and spraying again but it takes out even markers you have not put the heat to.
God bless you

Magic eraser. Most definately. Don't use hairspray on your microfiber couch...while it's great for other fabrics, it'll probably leave a ring on your couch cushion. I used magic eraser when my 2 year old got permanent black marker allover my older daughter's comfortor. I was skeptical at first, but it worked like a charm! Just lightly wet the magic eraser, use some elbow grease, and "Viola!", pen should be gone. So much better than chemical cleaners. Good luck!!!

Try baby wipes, then water, then more baby wipes etc. Baby wipes get so many stains off...

I read a long time ago that hairspray sprayed on inked and then washed may work. Do a patch test where you cannot see.

I bought Woolite upholstery cleaner in a trigger bottle and it works fantastic. My couch is also a microfiber, and I cannot turn over the cushions either. I have no problem cleaning with this cleaner and has not ruined the fabric either. Also, I wash the cushion covers in the machine as well. Otherwise my couch would look horrible by now. The cleaner even got out--after a few tries--permanent marker.

Use a damp white washcloth with a tiny bit of soap on it if necessary, then let the cushion airdry. Should you use a colored cloth, that color may rub off on to the cushion. Make sure that you use whatever cleaning agent (especially hairspray) sparingly because that in itself will end up leaving a 'ring' wherever you stop with it. Despite what they tell/show you in commercials, paper towels aren't designed to clean upholstery. Good luck!
