I am looking for a pediatrician in the North Plano/Tollway/Frisco area. I would prefer someone that is not so quick to prescribe antibiotics and that takes a more natural approach, also that is not too hard to get in to see when your child is sick. Let me know ladies if you have any recommendations.

I was referred to a pediatrician at Parker/Tollway and I really like them so far. The clinic is Willowbend Pediatrics and my Dr is Dr. Frank. Although my little is one is only 7 wks, I feel I have received great care from the clinic and Dr. Frank.

I absolutely love my kids pediatrician. he is great about discussing the type of treatment you would like to receive before just writing out prescriptions, his name is Dr. Rivera and his partner is Dr. Beamer and their practice is called kids docs they are at Josey and park so its not right at the tollway but its definitely worth the drive, i have been taking my daughter there for three years and he has been seeing my son since he was born in October. they are on staff at Plano Presbyterian also so he was at my sons birth. but i do highly recommend them!

We see Dr. Jennifer Darrow of Pediatric Place at Coit & 15th in Plano. When my son was 1 he had an ear infection and she didn't immediately prescribe antibiotics. He wasn't in pain and it wasn't so bad so she let it go for a week and then rechecked. Nothing had changed so she then prescribed antibiotics. She's very open to everything and takes the time to answer all of my questions. We've had some long appointments.

I really like my daughter's pediatrician. She is Dr. Laurie Berger and she is located at Plano Presbyterian at West Plano Pediatrics. There is a website - www.westplanopediatrics.com with all the info. I can't ever recall her prescibing anti-biotics for my daughter - I think the only time she was prescribed them was at a primacare on a Sunday. I've never had trouble at all getting in to see her - there are a few doctors there to cover each other. They are even open a short time on Saturdays for emergencies. Hope this helps!

Dr. Mehendale at Willowbend Pediatrics is wonderful! She has children about the same age as yours. Their office schedules appointments the day you call and are VERY easy to get in when there is an emergency. Office is extremely clean, separate waiting areas for sick and well patients, nice and caring staff! We scheduled a first time appointment with Dr. Mehendale to sit down and "interview" her before selecting her as a pediatrician. She's the best! They are located at the Tollway and Windhaven, across from the library.

It seems you already have a few postings for Willow Bend Pediatrics--and I just want to say I have been going there for 4 years now and absolutely love them. My main doctor is Dr. Sickler, but have used Dr. Frank, Dr. Menhendale and Dr. Michaels and all have been extremely attentive, professional and most importantly helpful! I think someone posted the phone number but if not, here you go: 972/403-9355. I have never had an issue getting an appointment or speaking with a nurse or doctor as requested.

Hi S.,
I have worked for North Dallas Pediatrics for 14 years and prejudice as it sounds I love them.

We are updating our web site but you can get some good info here: http://www.northdallasped.com/index.html

We offer same day sick appointments and RN's for advice. we also offer free new patient interviews so that you can come in and get a feel for the office and the MD to see if you think it would be a good fit.

Dr deVilleneuve (older, male) and Dr Seibert (younger, female) are the most conservative in their approach to treatments. The rest are conservative compared to some MD's I have done call for!

Last year Dr Seibert was listed in D magazine as one of the best Pedi's in the area, the year before that it was Dr Evans and this year Dr deVilleneuve and Dr Droge were listed.

Please feel free to e-mail me w/ any specific questions.

The appointment line # is ###-###-####.

We see Dr. Michaels (female) at Willow Bend Pediatrics. They are at Communications and Windhaven. She is always easy to get in and see - the same day. She does prescribe antibiotics when necessary but, will talk at length about any concerns you may have and offer other possibilities to fight colds ear infection etc. I moved here from Michigan and had a pediatrician there that we loved, and thought I would never find one here, but, we really like her - and we have also seen other pediatricians in the practice they are all very knowledgeable.

I recently switched to a new pediatrician for my son. He was wheezing and seemed to have allergies to me. Former pedi kept putting him on steroids and said it was caused by undetected RSV when he was younger. I went to a new pedi based on his caregiver's recommendation, Dr. Deborah Bain in Frisco. She examined him and immediately had us get him off of steroids so we could find the cause. She mentioned the idea of food allergies. I'm breastfeeding, and eliminated all the common allergens from my diet and now have a new child, free of steroids and breathing treatments. We found he's allergic to milk, soy, peanuts and wheat.

She just started her own practice in Frisco last August to be closer to home. Her website is http://www.healthykidspediatrics.com
You can read about her philosophy and practice there. Follow your gut and you'll be with the right doctor.

Good luck!
