I highly recommend Dr. Vanita Shori, Dr. Chris Hopkins and Dr. Andrew Kilgus. Their # is ###-###-####. My daughter has been going to them for 9 years, and she just loves going.
I am looking for referrals for a pediatrician in Grapevine. I'm a soon-to-be new mom, and I want someone who is "warm and fuzzy" and doesn't make me feel stupid for asking lots of questions. I want someone who offers information without me having to ask b/c I may not know to ask. I also want someone who is willing to give me their time and not make feel rushed, so they can see their next paitent. I basically want someone who is willing to "hold my hand" a little bit.
I highly recommend Dr. Vanita Shori, Dr. Chris Hopkins and Dr. Andrew Kilgus. Their # is ###-###-####. My daughter has been going to them for 9 years, and she just loves going.

Hi R.,
Congratulations! What an exciting time for you! We've been to several pediatricians in Grapevine (long story) and currently go to one who was highly, highly recommended by two friends. I like him very much myself, though we've only been to him twice, once for an interview and once for a well-child checkup. His name is Michael McCoy and he's at Premier Pediatrics. His phone number is ###-###-####. He is everything you have described and more. You can ask for a "getting acquainted" appointment with any pediatrician who is accepting new patients. Meet with a few of them and see who is a fit for you. Word of advice...notice how full their waiting room is. If it's packed, it indicates a bad scheduling system. That's how full it will be with sick children every time you are sitting there with your little bundle. Also, beware of doctors in the Cook network. If your child ever needs hospitalization, they will automatically send you to Cook Children's even though another hospital might better serve his/her needs. Here in Grapevine, we are just as close to Dallas as we are to Fort Worth. The doctor should refer you to whichever hospital specializes in your specific situation, not just the one they are affiliated with.
Good luck!

I highly reccommend Dr Gina Viktorin ###-###-####. 3 years ago I was a new mom with a seriously ill child. Dr Viktorin has held our hand, been there everytime we needed her and we now have a 6 month old. Dr Viktorin has 3 children - a 4 year old girl, twin boys 9 months old. So she is very familiar with it all. She is in North Irving/Valley Ranch but worth the drive! I found her through my ob whose children see her!
R., if you do not mind to come to Euless, we have a great pediatrician. His name is Dr. Martin at Cook's Children's office in Euless on Euless Westpark Way off of 183. I love him - he is really great. We have a 6 week old son and from the moment we met Dr. Martin, we loved his manner. He is young and funny and listens and makes new parents feel really good. His office number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
I am going to add my praise for Dr. Eric Hopkins. In less then 4 years we have gone thru 6 pediatricians (some in Michigan, some here in Texas) and Dr. Hopkins is my favorite. He really empowers you as the parent to feel confident in being a parent.

We LOVE Dr. Eric Benzick. He is off of Southlake Blvd. and affiliated with the Baylor Healthcare System. He is very smart and will always tell you lots of information w/o having to ask questions. That is my favorite part. There are several times they have worked us in and I have never felt rushed. His staff is very good about returning your calls and even Dr. Benzick himself will call if something important is going on.
I love my pediatrician who is in Coppell. I use to live in Lewisville and now live in the HEB area, and wanted to find a pedi closer to where we live now. I have tried a few pediatricians in the Grapevine and Southlake area that others had recommended. They were busy and I waited a long time, and I felt rushed. At one place the nurse was suppose to come right back with a shot for my son, but did not come back for 30 minutes. I went right back to our original pedi because they are so friendly and will take you right away. Call M.D. Pediatrics and ask for the Coppell office. Their number is ###-###-####.
Micheal McCoy ###-###-#### He's awsome we have been going there for 6 years. Rated top ped in Tarrant Co. Great since of humor!! Laid back and spends time with patients. Good Luck!
I go to Dr. Zwerneman we love her. She is at Southlake family practice her number is ###-###-####. I was the same way ny best friend went to her then I had a baby and had the same fears so we went to her too. She never makes you feel dumb and her nurses are great.
Dr. Dickey with Clinical Pediatrics is awesome. She fills your entire description. ###-###-####
Dr. V Shori is awesome! SHe is part of the Cooks network which is a plus...she has a great bedside manner and always takes plenty of time to answer all of your questions. Her office is located right near the hospital in Grpve
I also use Dr Michael McCoy with Premier Pediatrics in Grapevine and we love him!! He actually sits down and talks with you as long as you want. He has actually sat and chatted for up to 20 min -- he always allows this time for questions and advice. I don't think you will be disappointed with him. His associate Linda is also really good with kids....very patient. And when I call the nurse (Robin) with questions, she is very prompt with a return call and always give me good advice and generally makes me feel good about being a mom.
I would ask any pediatrician their thoughts on these two topics before committing to them.
How do they conduct minor exams/How do they distract children who don't want to be touched by the doctor ~ Dr. Kanadia is in Flower Mound just over the bridge at 2499 & 1171. He is FANTASTIC! His philosophy is that children should not be afraid of the doctor. I did not understand fully what he meant by this until I took my daughter to a different dr. in GV where he asked me to hold her down while he finished his exam of her ears/nose/throat which made her so upset she vomitted. First, Dr. Kanadia lets you hold your child while doing the normal exams (like ENT) which is much more comforting. Then, if the child starts to get upset, he will stop what he's doing and try to distract them with a song or by spinning the ear cone thingy or by one of his other tricks he has.
Do you require an exam for repeat illnesses or are you comfortable calling in prescriptions ~ If it is a repeat illness, you can just call him most of the time and he will call a prescription in for you without requiring an exam. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! :-) Time is very valuable as a parent and it can be very frustrating if you are dealing with a repeat cold and you know exactly what is needed, but have to take time to go to the dr. office.
Good luck! My children LOVE going to the doctor and that is super important!
