Pediatrician And/or Nutritionist Recommendation for Low Weight Baby

We live in North Dallas near Plano/Richardson/Addison areas. Our 8 month old son is 8 lbs. His pediatrician is not giving me enough direction on nutrition to maximize his caloric intake at solid and formula feedings (to my satisfaction). I would like to see someone that has a track record of success caring for low weight babies. Maybe someone who specializes in preemies, even though our son was full term, would be the right fit for us. Thank you for your recommendations and any advice or shared experiences.

I love my pediatrician...Dr. D at North Dallas Pediatrics. he is a big believer in babies are the size they are (as long as they are eating, sleeping, feeling, and growing well). Our daughter was a preemie, but I feel like she is always going to be on the small size for a while. That is just her body type. I have always felt like he does a great job. One other random thought....have you had him tested for gluten allergies? The reason I ask is that sometimes there can be an underlying reason behind slow weight gain. Not just enough calories. A gluten allergy can be one of those that could cause this. Here is the information on the pediatrician...http://www.northdallasped.com/

Have you seen an endocrinologist?? I would recommend seeing one, my daughter is low weight (not to your son's extreme) and we have really been put at ease and given a lot of information from the pediatric endocrinologist.

My sons were both preemies. I have loved Dr. Steven Crow since meeting him. He is located at Arapaho and Floyd. His phone number ###-###-####. When I first brought my first son home, I talked a lot to Nancy, the nurse practitioner. Her twin were premature and she was so reassuring.
