My favorite peanut butter cookie recipe is:
1 cup of peanut butter
1 cup of sugar (I usually cut this a bit)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
mix, roll into balls, press down with a fork and bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes (I think - I start tracking them at 10 and go from there).

I was just at a camp where they served nutella on top of peanut butter cookies - WOW!

I don't have the answer to this question. I've never had the complaint of my peanut butter cookies not tasting like peanut butter cookies!!

I use Skippy Creamy peanut butter. I might put in 1/4 more than the recipe calls for.

I use REAL vanilla extract and real sweet cream unsalted butter.

Good luck!! I'd be happy to be a taste tester for you!!!

I cant wait to see the responses. I have made ones that were a little too strong on the peanut butter. I think you are talking about the same ones. Do you mean the ones where you poke the hershey kiss in the middle? A friend of mine makes them with just enough peanut butter taste. I will have to ask her or watch the posts here :) Yum!

(cant ask my mom, hers were too strong too!.lol!)

Maybe it is the recipe?!? I use a flour-less peanut butter recipe, and my family is so addicted to it:) ...and it tastes very peanut-buttery and is easy to make!

I've used a few different kinds of peanut butter.... all have tasted the same basically!

Salt. If the salt is missing or insufficient, the cookies will be bland.

I follow this recipe very diligently. If I need lesser cookies, I reduce all the components proportionately. Baking time is 9 minutes, and check for browned/golden edges. And I use JIF creamy peanut butter - regular.
Cookies come out perfect every time, and the smell and flavor of peanut butter is amazing!

I use half shortening and half butter (keeps then chewy and not dried out like alot of peanut butter cookies). Half white sugar and half brown sugar, and always use a major brand peanut butter and not a reduced fat. I also add peanut butter chips to mine, Everyone that has them says they are the best peanut cookies they have ever had.

Skippy peanut butter has a stronger peanut taste. I would experiment with different brands of peanut butter. But I always use Skippy natural.

using all brown sugar instead of half regular sugar and half brown sugar actually intensifies the peanut butter flavor, and use unsalted butter
