This is wacky... In my area... Most 1st time moms are early 40s!!!
ROFL... Okay, just for Jo... We'll have a bragging rights contest for youngest & oldest. Although I theenk you're gonna lose, Jo. We usually have a couple of teen moms on the board.
<laughing> That reminds me: Teenmom! You know I thought you were the wisest/most down to earth 16yo I'd ce across in a long time for over a year??? Oh. Wait. Your KIDS are teens. Face. Palm.
:D
PB = PiggyBack
Or PeanutButter (sticky q), Paranormal Boxing, Probably Backwards, Perfect Boy, Pertussis Booster, PixieBot. Ooh. I like PixieBot.
__________
@ Laura... :) Probably!
What I go off of:
Statwise:
- My good friend B works in Swedish Admin. One thing the chart is maternal age. Over 2/3s of first time moms are in their early 40s.
Lol... Another fun one they track is power outages & "snow storms" (1st snowflake freakout counts)... Since their maternity ward will be over capacity 40 weeks later!
Anecdotally
- My sons 1st elementary I was on of 2 moms in her 20s. There were less than 10 in their 30s. The majority were late 40s & early 50s. Out of over 500 students.
- My sons 2nd elementary is slightly younger. There's probably 50 of us in our 30s, and 20 more in their 20s. Still out of 500 students.
The northend & southend both tend to have younger families (I loooooved living in Bothell & MLT back when), but even there... As a region we tend to be older in general. It lines up with the % of college grads. 20's for BA/MA/Phd or MD, 30's for carreer & marriage, 40's for family.

39 - Married at 30. Waited for the "right time". Honestly, there really is no "right time". I wish we'd started earlier, perhaps we'd have more than one. But I'm loving being a mommy to my boy :)
11 yrs old, when I was forced to raise my siblings, from diapering, bottle feeding, potty training, bathing, clothing, everything but earn an income.
28 with #1
39 with #2
41 with #3
Thought I was pregnant last year at 51 - yikes.
17 ...Married when i was 18. Still married to the same man. My daughter is 29 this year.
Known my husband since we were 13.
Married at 20.
Had our daughter 3 days before I turned 30..
It was completely planned on when we were ready..
FYI, we really were ready..
Um, 38
Old?
I didn't want kids right away.
I have 2 now.
But I feel like I'm 28.
LOL
My kids recently told me they want more kids!
Um yah, right.
My Hubby wouldn't mind, he says I have no problem getting pregnant.
Um yah, right.
Maybe if I was younger.
Ahem.
31
p.s.- LOL R., I thought the same darn thing about Teenmom!!! So she's a mom, to teens! Ha!!
PB? Peanut butter?
25, 27, and 30.
:)
20, I win!

At the point where I posted I was winning.
Really I have four amazing kids so I do win but then so does everyone else.
32 and 35 and 42 to my bonus kid. =)
27. Kind of scary, took my biological niece in with 5 minutes notice. I didn't have all the planning involved.
32. I started dating my husband when I was 17. We married when I was 25. First baby at 32, second baby at 35.
37
Married for 8 years first. Had fun, traveled, partied, worked the kinks out, finished our schooling, bought a house, then we were ready.
I met my husband when I was 17
We married after we finished college and had jobs (27)
and we had our son when I was 36.
Well considering I only admit to being 29 I had my first child 8 yrs before I was born LOL!!!!!!!
I was 20 -- my oldest is 37 girl -- 35 boy -- 26 girl -- 21 boy.
Almost the same as Sherri G-starting dating senior year of high school, married at 25 and first baby at 32-second at 33 :) Still married.
And this from a girl who said she never wanted kids-oh well.
LOL, I thought the same thing about "Teenmom!"
Baby 1: 25
Baby 2: 27
Baby 3: 29
Baby 4: will be 31 when I deliver, 1 month before 32
My mom had me when she was 32, and I was her 3rd pregnancy. She ended up having 9 pregnancies, but 4 miscarriages, so a total of 5 living children. I'm kinda out-pacing her, but I think I will probably end up with only 4 since this'll be my 4th c-section.
22. Sounded young then too!
I had my first at 29 (in April)...turned 20 that August.
***I MEANT I turned thirty...lol...Perhaps I FELT 20!***
30, 34
I waited for a 1990 model.
24.
I felt so immature....but overflowing with love and time to offer our son....and the future children that were to come.
Married DH at 26 and he had primary custody of his children, then 8 and 13. Had DD just past my 31st birthday.
30
I got married at 25. We had bought a place, my husband had a good enough job to allow me to stay home, we had some time to ourselves before adding children.
I was even older for my other 2 LOL
28. I was in 7th grade when I first remember saying I was going to get married when I was 26 and have my first child (a girl) at 28. That is exactly what happened:).
1. 28
2. 30
3. Either 37 or 38. My birthday is 3/17 and my due date is 4/7.
S.H. and Heidi I'm up there with ya! 39!
ETA: I may have to move to Seattle! I'd fit right in!
I had just turned 24 when I had my son and 29 when my daughter.
My one daughter was born when I was 24. It was the exact right age for me; old enough to know how I wanted to parent, young enough for the needed energy.
Daughter just turned 42 and has a 7yo son. It's sometimes hard to believe. Her baby years still seem so recent! But I never was any good at tracking the passage of time…
20 with the first ....yep...young....
30's with my boys....
NO MORE for me. Losing two in one year was enough - especially at 20/22 weeks....total of 3 lost. nope. no more for me.
I was engaged when I was 29, married at 30, and had my daughter when I was 32. She is my only and is now 13.
19 with my first. I'll be almost 37 when my second arrives.
Well, I started dating my now husband when I was 20 and his daughter was 3 months old :) I officially become her step-mom 1 month after I turned 28.
I gave birth to my boys: 2 months shy of 30 and 1 month shy of 34.
26. It was the perfect age for me.
I turned 19 a month after my son was born, so technically 18.
#1 @ 17.......together with father for 7 years; I left him when she was 3.....he just couldn't hold down a job, and still has a hard time holding down a job.
Kids with my hardworking husband:
#2 @ 31
#3 @ 32
#4 @ 34
23 when my daughter was born, 25 when my niece joined us, and I'll be 28 when this baby is born.
I was 24 and wouldn't have it any other way
Exactly two months before my 37th birthday.
I was 33 when I had my son...and 38 when I had my daughter. :) :) :)
Add me to the 40 list! :)
I was married just before my 25th birthday. My first child was born when I was 28. That seemed older, compared to many of my peers, but it really wasn't too far off. My other children were born when I was 30, 32, and 33.
My parents met as the Great Depression was beginning and couldn't afford to marry for about ten years. She became a mother for the first time when she was almost 39 and my dad was celebrating his 40th birthday (my older sister was his birthday present).
R., maybe in your area of Seattle it's 40's? Most people on my side of the water are closer to mid/late 20's. :)
Mom at 25.
Married at 26, Mom at 33.
26...Had my first son!
28...Had my second son!
30...Had my baby girl!
~Just FYI: I hold the record for being the 'Oldest Mom' out of all the girls/women on both sides (Mom & Dad's) of my family...I got SO much slack for being an 'Old Mom'....most had their first born at 18 and their 2nd at 20....and I am 1 of 2 in my generation that had more than 2 kids! Sheesh!
20 & 23 daughter then son respectively.
i turned 24 2months after my daughter was born
1st - 26
2nd - 28
3rd - 32
Married at 27, first baby at 34, second at 37.
I was 18 with my first (daugher) almost 19 and than 19 with my second (son) almost 20.
I was 24 with the first and 27 with the second. In my area it seems like the moms were either really young (as in had their first child at 16) or older (as in had their first child at 39). I'm floating alone with the mid-twenties child birthing age.
I was 19.5, we had number two 3 years later, and number three 3 years after that.
36, had second at 38, and will turn 41 a month after I have my third.
in my early 30's...

35 with #1 and 37 with #2. And I'm done!!
Married at 20, 1st baby at 21.
(2nd at 23, 3rd a couple weeks shy of 27, 4th at 29. Can't imagine just starting now vs. being done!)
Went into labor with our first child on my 31st birthday!
I was 32 when my first daughter was born and 33 when my second daughter was born.
20 with my daughter.
22 with my first son.
24 with my second son and last baby.
Had my first when I was 28 and my youngest when I was 41. I have six in all but don't ask me to do the math on all of them.
Married at 24, first baby at 31, second at 34.
26 and 29
We were 20 with the first...(many years of miscarriages due to fibroids)..
34 when our second was born. Now that I'm 38 we are trying for #3 :)
I was 25. Same as my mother when she had me, and my grandmother when she had my mother.
