I got suckered into have the office party at my house this year LOL~~
so....I'm guessing about 30 people will be in my 1960's ranch with a finished basement. there is enough room but it'll be cozy for sure!
here's the problem....we just remodeled...new carpet, all new paint, new tile, etc. I'm kinda nervous because it is all so nice right now and I'm having nightmares about spilled food and drink!! the people I work with are mostly younger 20's too so rowdy drunk shenanigans could erupt, but there are a few of us 30 and older and we should be able to keep those to a minimum (haha we hope)
I need ideas of how to party proof my house....set up suggestions...food suggestions... drink suggestions....
we are starting at 7pm so the food will be mostly finger foods.
got a good recipe for something yummy, finger food like, that won't stain the floor forever if it gets knocked over?
got ideas on what to serve drink wise? most are BYOB, any good way to keep that all organized?
these are a pretty good bunch of people...I'm not too scared...but I'm also a realist...

What can I do next?

Well, if it's BYOB, you can't control red wine. However, is there a budget? Could you possibly provide drinks -a clear, non staining alchohol punch and some vodka drinks, champagne -that sort of thing? Also, steer clear of chocolate, salsa and mustard. Choose little pre-made party quiches, cheeses and crackers w/charcuterie, vegetables with a white ranch-style dip and non-greasy items. Is the finished basement large enough to house the party there? Was it part of the remodel? If not remodeled, but large enough -funnel them all there! If not, have plenty of coasters and napkins out, and if you have new, light-colored furniture, place some festive throws all over it. This could also possibly be cute depending on the style of your new tile/carpet/decor (or horribly tacky -just depends on what you find), but look at Home Depot, the dollar store, Walmart, etc. for cheap throw rugs. I saw a bunch the other day in Christmas patterns -or you could get some that generally match your colors. That could at least cut down on possible stains and ground in food. Good luck!

We had this at a Super Bowl party and it was soooooo good!! I have yet to make it, but I plan to over the holidays! They were cooked and stored in a glass dish with the hot bags.

This is really easy

Use whatever kind of hot peppers you want. The original recipe called for pablamos, but she used jalapenos and removed the seeds (to decrease the heat.)

Wash and clean the peppers, slice them in half and pat them dry.
1 - 8 oz cream cheese (You can use lite if you want)
1 package of bulk pork sausage -- Hot or spicy (used Hot)

Brown the sausage. Add the cream cheese. Mix together. Stuff the peppers. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until the pepper are cooked thru.

So easy! And usually a big hit with anyone that likes spicy. Enjoy!

Just don't have anything in red liquid or purple. Those with red dye in the drink will stain the carpet. But maybe you could find out if the carpet was treated with any kind of treatment to repel staining.

Also, carpet can be cleaned by you $50 or less) or if you prefer a professional for $100 or so.

I'll add to have plenty of visisble trash receptacles. When I've been to parties where there are no trash cans visible, people tend to just stack dishes up until they topple over onto the floor or overfill the one tiny container until it also spills over.
