Hello everyone - I need some help with ideas on how to get green paint out of my carpet. It's a pretty big area and I have tried basic cleaners but am having no luck. Can anyone pass on any advice on things that have worked for them? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Have you tried applying rubbing alcohol and then blotting it up? Test a hidden area first for colorfastness.

My MIL uses starter fluid for everything, even on her carpets and it seems to get everything out. However, I would try it in a corner in a closet or something first to make sure that it does not harm the color in your carpet. Then of course open all of your windows and turn on your fans because it does have a lot of odor. After using the starter fluid and getting stain out I would follow up with a carpet cleaner just because I don't like the idea of starter fluid being in the carpet.

Just an idea...she has used starter fluid on pretty much everything for years and it seems to work.

Good luck.

You could try Goof-Off. Or my husband's got this stuff called "Motsenbocker's Lift Off Latex Based Paint Remover" that has worked wonders for us. Test it on a small patch first, though - our carpet was old and we didn't care, but you might not have that luxury! You could also pay a carpet cleaning company, maybe, if all else fails. Good luck!

There is a latex paint remover you can purchase from Bed Bath and Beyond. My DH spilled a whole gallon of blue paint in the rear of our SUV, and this product got it all out! Can't remember the name but I do remember buying it at B,B & B. Hope this helps!

Don't scrub, soak it in large amounts of water and soak it up. scrubbing will only make it worse and force it deeper into the carpet.

A few years ago, I dumped a can of navy blue paint in my living room. After spending 9 hrs trying to clean it, calling a carpet cleaner, and renting another, my mom suggested Oxiclean. I was dumbfounded when it worked. For $7, my carpet was saved. Try it. I hope it works.

Try denatured alcohol, you can find this at any hardware store. It took paint out of our carpet a few years back.

The only thing I have ever used to get paint of carpet is Sol-U-Mel from Melaleuca The Wellness Company. We have been shopping with them since 1991 and I am very happy with all their non-toxic products
Let me know if you want more information.
