It could be related or it could be not. Either way, I'd go to the doctor before anything worse happens.
I had a laproscopy in January to drain ovarian cysts and to cauterize Endometriosis in my fallopian tubes. Since last night I have had a sharp pain in my right lower abdomen, but I cannot for the life of me, remember if the pain I had before my procedure was like this or not! It's not bad to where I can't walk but it is painful and it feels a little better when I put pressure on it.
I guess what I'm asking, or wondering, is if this could be a reoccurance of the cysts/Endometriosis, or if it is something else, like Appendicitis??
Any guesses or answers would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi M.
I can understand where you are coming from. I have suffered from Endometriosis for several years. I have had stage 4 and have had 4-5 laproscopies to get rid of it. I have just had my daughter who is now 20 months old and I too have started to have abdominal pain and severe pain at that time of the month.
The only thing that I can suggest to you is to at least call your doctor to make sure there is nothing else that may be wrong, if there is nothing that they can see that is wrong then the endo may be back or you can even have pain from the scar tissue from your last laproscopy.
I am here if you have any other questions or help!
Good Luck!
Hi M.!
It may be related toyour past health issues, but you need to check it out as soon as possible, just in case.
I had an emergency appendectomy ;ast October. I went to Emergency at noon on Sunday at noon, had a CAT scan by four and was out of surgery feeling much better by 8pm!It was done laproscopically, so I can barely see the tiny scars. Initially, the way the doctor checked it was to press down hard on my right side mid to lower abdomen and then quickly release. The 'rebound affect'(the pain following the release) was far more painful than the initial pressure. The they had me take a CAT scan to verify their suspicions. Also some people stand up on their toes and then hit the floor with their heels and experience a sharp pain. If either of this pain is similar to yours, you might want to have a doctor check it ASAP to make sure it is not an appendicitis ready to burst.I'm told that then is when it can get real serious. If you can't get in to your doctor now, you may want to go urgent care or emergency.I'll be praying for you for a quick recovery!
You should really ask your doctor all of this to make sure your ok.
Go to the doctor sweetie. It's not something we can diagnose online. Take care of yourself.
you know it may be something you never thought of. About a year ago i had very bad pain in my lower right abdomen and after a few days I could not take the pain so I went to the ER and got x-rays and all the tests. Come to find out I had a bowel blockage. I didn't for a moment think that might have been the problem because I didn't feel like I had to go #2 and I had been going, but the doctor showed me the x-rays and showed me exactly where the blockage was and told me to take milk of magnesia. I was really embarrassed. I thought I had appendicitis the pain was so bad, the doctor even gave me morphine. So you might want to try that or just go to the doctor just in case it is something more serious. best of luck.
Hi there, I took a quick read through the reponses and I have a different idea... Although you should make sure that it is not appendicitis first!! But, every month I definitly can tell when I ovulate, I get that sharp pain in my lower abdomen. It is most apparent when I am sitting down or standing up. When I am in the position of sitting and standing it usually goes away, mostly just happens in the action of sitting and standing up. It usually lasts 1-2 days and then ofcoarse the next month. I am not too fond of my doctor her only response was to go on birthcontrol or have a hysterecomy.
So I would first and formost make sure it is not your appendix, if it is not that try to track when it is happening, when your last period was and how often or what you are physically doing when the pain kicks in.
I hope you have some luck in figuring out what is causing the pain and find a way to make things better!! Take Care!
I had my appendicitis removed but before I had it removed, I suffered in pain for 1 year back in high school. I had a hard time walking, I had to crouch down and walk very slowly. I kept going to the er frequently. The er told me that it was my ovary being infected so I took the medicine repeatedly. The pain never went away until one day I couldn't walk at all and I couldn't focus on anything so they called the ambulance and took me to the hospital. They finally realized that it was appendicitis. Needless to say how angry I was for suffering the whole time. They said that it would have exploded in just few more hours and I could have died. If I were you, I'd go see the doctor asap.
Hi M.,
I highly recommend you let your doctor know about this and get checked out.
However, in addition to this, I recommend finding out what the really problem is. The surgery you had did NOT get rid of the problem. The cysts were merely a "symptom" to warn you there is a problem. If you don't identify the cause, they cysts will indeed come back...or worse, you'll end up with something else in addition to the Endo.
I am a Health and Nutritional Consultant and have a myriad of resources to help you with this. My good friend and colleague suffered from Endo and, I'm sure, would be happy to talk with you. Please feel free to call our office at ###-###-####.

Hi! Some of these might sound silly, but they are used as diagnostic tools to figure out if it is appendicitis. If you push in on the site of the pain and release quickly, does it hurt upon release? Stand in one place and jump up and down. Does the area hurt? Do you "guard" your stomach...does it tense up if someone tries to touch that area? Is there nausea with this pain? Another potential sign is pain when you lie on the left side and extend the right leg and pain when the right hip is rotated toward the center of the body. My daughter suffered from chronic appendicitis for over 1 1/2 years!! None of the Docs that she saw could figure it out, because none of the tests worked on her. All of the ultra sounds, blood work, endoscopies, etc showed NOTHING!!! But, I knew there was something wrong. Some even suggested that she was a drama queen and making it up!!! I am a nurse and knew that this pain was genuine and kept pushing the Docs to do something. Finally, she got so bad that they did exploratory surgery. They removed her appendix and voila!! She is doing very well now. If those above suggestions don't show a positive, don't give up...maybe its jjust a cyst on your overy, but, the moral of my story is don't stop pushing to get an answer. Doctors are not God, and you should not take no for an anwer from them! I hope that you are better soon!!
Hi,
I'm sorry that this is not in response to your request; rather it is an email asking for your advice! I have a friend who has an ovarian cyst and is very nervous about the possibility of laproscopy. Do you have any advice for her?
Thanks very much,

The only way to know for sure is to have imaging done. It's appropriate for you to see your doctor so s/he can order the appropriate labs and imaging!
Hope you feel better!
Hi M.,
One "test" for appendicitis:
Check for "rebound pain." Lie flat. Press on the area with gentle, but "deep" pressure with one hand, then let go quickly. Positive rebound pain is one of the symptoms (but could be other things, too).
It usually also comes with nausea and/or fever.
Feel better. Call your MD's office.
