Try aloe juice. All 3 of my boys were on zantac for reflux and they are all off their meds. It's amazing stuff. It's all natural. The strawberry kiwi tastes like a freeze pop and the kids love it.

Hi moms
My twin girls are 11 weeks old and are suffering with reflux, they are taking Prevacid and slowly improving. The youngest twin is having severe colic on top of the reflux. A friend of mine suggested a osteopathic pediatrician, anyone has had any experience with that? Anyone in the Miami/FLL area has any recommendations?

I have not had experience with that, however, if you are open to chiropractic care for your little one I highly recommend it. It can help with all those problems. Just find one that has been practicing a long time and one with child/infant experience. Just with any Dr. there are the good and the bad. Research it before making a decision. Hope that helps
Go to Dr, Brian Udell in Weston. He will take them off that very dangerous drug and put them on another called Bethanochol. This does not have aluminum and other toxins that will mess with brain development. Prevacid was never approved to be used in children under 1 yr old. For children 1-12 yrs you can only keep them on it for about 8 weeks. Look up the prescribing information and you will see that it did not even make a difference for those on the drug. So why give it??? It is an adult drug as most are. When you cut off their acid pumps, nutrition does not reach the brain. They get low muscle tone and lots do not develop speech, motor and social milestones. Make sure your kids get hours of tummy time a day to strengthen their abdominal muscles. That is one great way to naturally overomce this problem. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions because I work with these kids who have been devasted by the effects of acid reflux drugs.
An Osteopathic Doctor goes to school actually longer than a regular MD. They have more detailed classes in the skeleton and muscles. An Osteopathic doc is the absolute best. I was born in an Osteopathic Hospital and never saw an MD until I was an adult. The difference was shocking. I had been in a softball incident and the college sent me to their MD. I was surprised at the doc for telling me to get a prescription of muscle relaxants and go home and go to bed for 3 weeks.
My DO put me in the hospital, did surgery to repair my very serious knee injury. I had torn my ligaments in half, the meniscus was shredded, I had no tendons intact, I could stand up and my leg bent side to side...no joke, side to side about 12 inches. I had over 100 stitches inside and over 20 outside. I was in a full length cast from pelvic to toes for 8 weeks and physical therapy for about a year. And the MD sent me home with drugs....
As for stomach issues. It does not matter what type of doc you choose, just go to an internal one that specializes in GERD and these type issues. Check with your insurance and get the names of several that they have a contract with.
