Old Baby Stuff

I am a mother of three girls, the youngest is two and I still have all of her baby products. Since I had decided that two kids was enough I had given all my stuff away. Surprise surprise I found out I was pregnant again and had to buy all new stuff. Now out of fear of having child number four I kept everything, and its too much. My question is how do I sell this stuff so that I get the most out of doing this because I just can't afford to give anything away right now.

Hi C., I would suggest going on Napervilleyardsales.com it is a fantastic way to sell and buy things. You could also post on Craigslist to sell your items.

Good Luck

You can sell all of this stuff to Once Upon a Child on Harlem Ave. You will at least get a little money for these items. I sell my kids stuff to them all of the time.

I'm not sure if you are living in a house or condo, but my sister-in-law just had a "baby yard sale" this summer for exactly the same reason. She said she sold EVERYTHING and that it was great to finally unload all the old baby stuff that was dragging them down.

If you don't have a garage or yard of your own, maybe try teaming up with a friend or family member who does. You'd be surprised how many people have things they'd like to get rid of, and a group garage sale means tons of interesting options for your shoppers.

Good luck!

Not sure where you live but there is a second-hand baby store here in Evanston on Dempster near Chicago. You can make an appointment and the woman looks over your things and decides what to sell. I believe they give you money for some things and others (higher priced items, it seems) you'll get paid once the item sells.

Good luck!

Hey, I have used Craigslist.com to sell AND Ebay. I made a good bit of money selling stuff. Group clothes together is sizes to sell them on ebay. Registering with Ebay is pretty easy just follow the guidelines. You pay a small fee for each item in Ebay and be sure you charge enough for shipping (i look at other people charging for shipping to get an idea of how much to charge...overcharge a small amt if necessary to be sure you don't lose money!). Half.com is part of Ebay and a great way to sell books for a great price. You make more than you would by selling them in a garage sale and all you have to do is put in the ISBN number on the back of the book. Half.com does most everything else for you. You pay a small fee after the book sells. I have make a good bit of money using all 3 of these routes over the past couple of years.
