Hi again Mamas! Well I will say this up front that I have not even tried to wash any of these clothes yet! I have been going through my son'e old baby clothes that I kept in preparation for baby boy number 2! I know he stained alot of clothes, especially the newborn stuff, but I don't remember them being that bad. Everything was washed before I put them away and I know it is always going to be stained, but all the stains are a dark yellowish color now. They have being sealed up in those vacuum sealed storage bags since he last wore them over a year ago. Do you think if I wash them the stain will lighten? I just wanted to salvage a few things. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I second the motion of Oxyclean. My friend T., :), gave me the greatest tip with this stuff. She boils water in a big ol' pot with added Oxyclean. She then soaks the stained clothes in there all day. Take 'em out and run through the washer. It works pretty well. I will have to say that I get her daughters hand-me-downs and all her baby clothes are always bright and white!!!
Margaret :)
P.S. I used Oxyclean to clean the stains out of my crock-pot. It worked like a charm!!!

I would try a product called Gonzo, I have found it at fabric stores. I drive out of my way to get it! It works great on grease/oil stains too.

Hi T., treat them first with Resolve carpet cleaner in the spray bottle, not aerosol. Let them sit for an hour or so and wash...that has always removed those breastmilk and spitup stains that re-appear over time.

Hi T.,

The stain can lighten or even go away. I have a product called pre-spot that is wonderful. I have gotten it from shopping at a wellness company whose products are all safe and they work a whole lot better. If you would like more information visit www.formyrugrats.com or email me at ____@____.com. I would love to share more about these products. The Pre-spot has gotten out blood from my son's white karate uniform. It really works.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Here is my method for what it is worth...

1. I spray with Shout and let it dry into the stain.
2. Wash them in baby detergent with Baby Oxyclean and a cup of vinegar.

Then I repeat as needed...I have never had to do this more than 3 times and that was with the worst dried in stains.

Good luck!!

Oxyclean and warm or hot water - if that can't do it, nothing will!
