For my 8 year old, I decided the Samsung Tablet would be the best, but it is currently sold out everywhere and the Kindle Fire is on sale today for $129 on Amazon.
Now I dont know what to do.
What would you do?

What can I do next?

I only have a Kindle...

I have seen the Tablet....but i'm not impressed...I think I am just getting shell shocked with technology....and feel like next month something else will come out...

My kids are 10 and 12 (I will leave out my adult one!) and they do NOT have an iPod, iPad, iPhone, tablet, etc....they have DS's and only my oldest has the cell phone.....

If you can afford the Fire, get it. ENJOY!!!

Up until the Wii U demand I was getting the fire for my youngest. I really have no sound reason for the choice but that was where I was headed. Genna is 11 and doesn't need all the functionality of the Galaxy and anyone who thinks that it won't be outdated by the time she does is nutty coo coo. So why have things on there that I have to block when I can get her a Kindle fire?

Why do you think the Galaxy over the Fire?

I love the Fire personally, but don't know anything about the Galaxy. If there's not a HUGE reason you like the Galaxy over the Fire, I would go with the Fire.

I adore my Samsung Galaxy Tab, but for a kid, I would probably save the extra money and get the Kindle Fire.

I don't know much about the Samsung tablet, but I have the Kindle Fire HD and I really like it. There is an app on it called "Free Time" that you can use to set up profiles for your children. You can select which apps, videos, books, etc. that they have access to and also set up daily time limits.

i got my kids the nabi tablets. they are designed for kids (bumpers in case of drops) and they can eventually be turned from the mode for kids to full android. since my kids have only had DS's i found that to be a better choice for us.
now as far as the kindle fire, i am thinking of getting one for me. we shall see. good luck to you :)

Just got the Tablet for our 5 year old. I love it and it was 150$ It has the rubber bumpers for accidental drops and I like the clarity and ease more than the fire. my husband has the Kindle Fire for bathroom reading LOL in a baggie of course.

I am going through the same thing! I am leaning towards the galaxy. It has a camera, I don't think the kindle does, and in a side by side comparison I thought it was better than an Ipad!

Any chance the Samsung will be back in stock anywhere before Christmas? I'm not sure I'd settle for a Kindle Fire (mixed reviews), seems like the Samsung would be better, but will you have a choice?

Kindle fire! If not a I pad mini. There just like a kindle or Samsung except there apps are better and not so expensive if he gets a kindle he'll need a credit card or amazon card on account just to download a free app. With apple you don't need a card unless you need to pay for an app.
