B.H.
I had been going thru the process of losing about 50 lbs. I asked my 5 y/o daughter if she wanted to cuddle up with me to watch cartoons. She answered "No Mommy, you're not so squishy anymore." I savored that compliment!
So, my sweet, loving, affectionate kids in the adorable ages where I can do no wrong LOVE to say sincerely nice things from the bottom of their hearts to me.
The other day, with full admiration to really make me feel great, my 3 year old son put his little hand on my shoulder and said: "Mom, you look beautiful. Your legs are as big as Popeye's".
:-0 ???!?
And to encourage me in all my diligent exercise, my 5 year old daughter said in an impressed and supportive tone as I was changing, "Mom! Congratulations, your boobs are shrinking!"
So. What are some of the lovely compliments you get from your kids?
I had been going thru the process of losing about 50 lbs. I asked my 5 y/o daughter if she wanted to cuddle up with me to watch cartoons. She answered "No Mommy, you're not so squishy anymore." I savored that compliment!
My son did tell me once I was as beautiful as a sprinkle cake donut... and he does always say my skin is so soft .. but will also note if I have gained any weight and suggest that "I get back on track." LOL
I was changing my shirt in front of my 4 year old daughter the other day and she said "Mom, you know they make something for those?" To which I say "For what, honey?" "Your stretch marks. But don't worry, mama, your face is still lovely. You don't need the ant-crinkle cream." She meant anti-wrinkle cream. She has started watching programming on channels other than Nick, Jr. so apparently the commercials have been resonating with her. *Sigh*
oh my gosh, I could go on and on.....especially with our daughter. she is 5 yrs old and she says whatever she is thinking and does not think about your feelings.
1. "Mommy, I just saw a commercial that said you can just rub lotion on
your scars from having me in your belly and they will go away!"
2. "Daddy, my brother's pucks are growing and yours are falling!!" (PECKS muscles)
3. "Mommy, when I lose my baby teeth, will I have bunny teeth like you?"
4. "Mommy, when you sit down it looks like you have another baby in your belly"
5. "Mommy, how many times are you going to say you love me in one day??"
6. "Mommy, if you say you are going to take care of me and make sure I don't get sunburn, and teach me how to be pretty, why don't you take care of yourself?"
7. "Oh mommy! Your wrinkles are getting bigger!"
She is a stinker but oh so honest. She is truly curious and never tries to hurt your feelings.....she actually cries if you tell her she hurt your feelings. I write everything down in her journal, it is hilarious to read months later. She likes me to read the stories to her! She is 5 1/2.
Enjoy!
My then three yr old son said, "Mommy, I love you! You are so cute, like Shrek!" Ummm, thanks??
Lol, that's so cute! When my daughter was about 3 or 4, she looked at me and said "Mom, you look like an old woman..... but you're a cute old woman though!" :-)
When my daughter was 3 she looked up at me with her big eyes and sweetly said "Mom, I like your big butt". LOL She really thought it was a compliment . Good thing I was in a good mood ;)
Not sure if this is really a compliment, but I thought it was cute...A couple days ago, my 4yr old says..."Mommy, I don't just love you, I like you too". I thought that was really cute!!
My 8yr old son tells me I'm pretty all the time.
My little ones always know how to say the right things, and it's just so much sweeter coming from them :)
A few months ago I bleached my hair blond. I had a friend help me, and did the original bleach at her house. I hadn't stripped it yet, and it looked *awful*. I came home late, after the house was asleep and went to bed.
When we woke up, and my family first saw me, my husband said, "Whoa."
My four year old said, "Momma, you look bootaful. Your hair is YELLOW!!! Can I touch it?....It feels like doll's hair!"
She was right, my hair WAS like yellow doll hair!
I cant remember a hidden insult but i know there have been plenty. I do remember a funny compliment yesterday told to me by my 2 year old.
As she cuddles up next to me she strokes my arm with her little index finger and says gleefully "mommy your skim is fumfterble"
...translation "mommy your skin is comfortable".......but im sure you all could decipher that(you speak baby im sure)
ROFLMAO!!!!!! Your son is great!
My youngest always tells me I am the equivalent of 20 something to my actual age - such as: I am 43 so he says I am 23. My oldest son quickly corrects him and reminds him (and me) of my actual age!
My oldest son also asks why I put on make-up. I say b/c it makes me look better. He says, "I don't see a difference!" Let me tell you, there is a BIG difference b/c I have very dark circles under my eyes!
Once, when I was in 5th grade a little boy told me, "If you are pretty when you are young, you will be ugly when you get older, but if you are ugly when you are young, you will be pretty when you get older. You, will be beautiful when you are older!!!!!!" Not from my kid but from a kid :)
(after losing 100lbs)
My 5 year old was walking right behind me and says, "Mom, your butt IS getting smaller!"
My daughter as we are getting ready for bed "Yeah, you look 50..."
A couple days later "I guess 50 isn't old though, when you can run 3 miles in the woods!"
Yep!
haha! so funny...
my kids laugh at me while i'm working out. they aren't being mean. they are genuinely entertained.
my son tells me that i have a huge head (which I don't really!). again, he's not trying to be rude.
my daughter tells me how i have such a huge bum. (only in comparison to hers!)
i can't think of more, but they make me laugh a lot. oh the insults/compliments/whatever they are!
Just last Tuesday, we had a 6am flight meaning we were up and left home by 4am ish.
Going through TSA security, I was called aside... they swiped my hands for drug test. As they were doing so, they commented on my diamond and my watch which I will not remove. I stood in the "cell" with my hands held out for testing.
After being cleared and joining hubby and 16 yr old, I laughed.it off because last time, I got frisked due to underwire in the bra. .. Hubby said.. they love your body and wanted to check out your great chest. Daughter said... maybe it was the bags under your eyes this morning!! LOL
As I said to daughter.... At 16 and at 5ish am, you are very tired and your eyes need a re-check..... and to hubby, thank you of course.... I am proud of my body.
Now, as we just returned home tonight, I feel the light burn of the sun from the last 4 days, my 3 dogs are not letting me out of their sight and I am heading to bed soon..... Got to keep the bags at bay, LOL
Ha ha!!! My son once said "mom, my legs are getting hairy like yours!" He said it with such enthusiasm. :)
This was my 5 1/2 year old son, looking out for me...
We were watching the preview guide channel on our tv, and they were concurrently playing an infomercial about some weight loss product. People were giving testimonials about how much weight they lost, and they were showing before and after pictures, etc. I noticed my son intently listening/watching... and then he excitedly says to me, "Mommy, YOU could get that! You're fat!"
What could I say. I ain't thin. LOL
Mama, I love you soooo much! You have a nice big butt mama--- its much bigger than mine. Are you proud??? Yea, Hun--I am-- :) Lol
Or Mama, your boobies are getting bigger are you going to breastfeed me again or brother? What kind of milk are you giving us--regular cows milk or breastmilk?? LOL---I was like-- Im not a cow--lol--I don't go put breastmilk into a cup for my boys anymore. When they were little, yes--but now---not so much.
They say the funniest things though.
