Hi Moms,

I had a c-section 13 weeks ago (2nd one) and my stomach has never felt normal since. I have this odd numbness feeling in my lower abdomen that starts from my belly button down to my incision site.
At times if it's touched by my kids or husband it feels sore and tingly.
When I brought this up to my OB he just says it's because my skin was stretched out so much with delivery and it will return to normal but it still hasn't and I feel it's a permanent problem.
I never experienced anything like this after my first C-section.
Has anyone else experienced this feeling and did it ever go away or are you still living with it?
Could this be caused from some sort of nerve damage?

TIA for any helpful advice.

What can I do next?

Hi N.,

I had a C-section 2.5 yrs ago and I still have a numb, tingling sensation. I told my GYN about and he told me not to worry and that I may always have the sensation or may go away. He's assured me that everything is fine and I trust him. I have a friend that has the same thing it's been 6+ yrs since her C-section. Each woman is different.

Hi...I had my 2nd csection on January 16th. I also had abdominal surgery (which required a "classic" vertical csection incision) when I was 24 weeks pregnant. I still have numbness on both incisions, but especially on my actual csection incision. It also twinges from time to time, and when the baby is standing in my lap and hits it with her foot or whatever, it IS sore.

I don't really have any helpful advice; just wanted to let you know it's probably normal.

My c-section was almost 2 years ago and some of the numbness has gone away but not quite all of it. I think it is from nerve damage from surgery.
