Hello,
Does anyone have experience with the Nuvaring, especially compared to regular birth control?

What can I do next?

My closest friend used it for 2 years without any issues...

Until she got pregnant with twins while on it. :/ (and she was very strict about following the directions because she did NOT want to get pregnant.)

Worst thing I've ever put in my body. My face broke out so bad I'm still dealing with the scaring 2 years later. My skin hasn't been the same. My period was horrible. It hurt to take it out, it like grew into my vagina lining. I need to be on hormonal birth control due to cysts and endometriosis. Didn't help me at all.

It's amazing.

It comes in a Styrofoam cooler box and goes in the fridge until it's time to put it in.

Since it's a local birth control there don't seem to be as many side effects. When you do have it in the vaginal area if hubby is...endowed...and he can feel it during intercourse you can actually remove it for a while then put it back in. When your time is up you simply take it out so your period can start then you put in the next one.

It's very simple and low stress.

Love mine too. Very easy, no breakthrough bleeding, periods are lighter as time goes on. Only downside, and it's kind of funny, is that occasionally hubby will "catch the brass ring", if you get my meaning. So we have to make sure it's still there after intercourse. We've had a couple frantic times searching the bed, lol.

I used to use it, but my husband hated it. It's fairly convenient to use, just insert and leave it there for 3 weeks, take it out, insert new one in a week. Definitely less of a hassle than pills.

I can't say that it's definitely related, I did have some "unusual" pap smears after I started using it. I quit using it after about 6 months b/c my husband didn't like it (he would always feel it during sex and it would always come out afterward) and my paps went back to normal about a year after that. Again, nothing medically to prove it, but it always worried me.

I used it years ago, and had breakthrough bleeding with it.

I LOVE it! and the only reason I have ever used a pill is after birth when I was breastfeeding. I don't even have a period anymore, I just spot for a few minutes and then it's over. Hubby does take it out sometimes when he can feel it, but, I have to say that it never bothers me. It can be tricky to get in and out if you have a belly/tummy, but I just let hubs help and then he is an active participant in our birth control regimen.

I have nothing negative to say about it, other than it doesn't protect against STDs, that kind of thing. Talk to your doctor, but I would recommend giving it a shot. O, it usually doesn't come out on it's own at all, but I did have a friend who said she would shoot it out during a bit "O". But, rinse and put back in and its all good.
