I will be traveling to the UK in a few weeks - and need to continue pumping. I have a 2007 Pump In Style from Medela. I'm looking for advice from people who have successfully pumped in the UK using a US purchased pump. I have a friend who took hers overseas, and burnt it out with the electrical differences.
I know that I could get a manual pump - but I really want to use my double elecctric. Please let me know if you have successfully used an electrical pump in the UK!

I ended up just using batteries with the pump. It worked well - the rechargeables were more troublesome than the alkaline! I was suprised at how long I could pump on a set of alkaline batteries. I survived the trip, and my little one and I are still nursing quite happily. Thanks to everyone for the advice!
Do not just look for an outlet attachment but look for an actual transformer, which allows the US products to work better in Europe. The outlet attachments do not generally take into account the wattage difference, so see if you can get an electronics store that can provide you with a transformer that can convert the wattage difference and keep the electrical item fine.
You should be able to buy a converter you plug into the wall and then plug your pump into.

I haven't used a pump anywhere but here, but you do need the converter if you want to plug it in, otherwise the battery pack is a good suggestion.
AAA stores might sell the converter, and I am pretty sure you can buy stuff there even if you are not a member. Or, talk to Medela and see what they have to say, maybe they sell the converters also.

They do make a battery pack that you can use instead of electricity. I had one for mine but I purchased mine in 2005. It worked great.

I have pumped in Germany with the Medela Pump. You can of course not use their Electrical outlet, they have different Voltage and Frequency, that kills the pump.
If yours did not come with a batterypack, mine did, buy one. It is especially for traveling and pumping in places where you d o not have regular electircity. Of course it takes a ton of batteries, but that is still cheaper than a burned out Medela pump.
