I need to take my newborn downtown for a few hours next week. Can anyone recommend stores/ malls with decent changing facilities and good places I can breastfeed him?

What can I do next?

I don't have a ton of suggestions, but here are a few:

Motherhood Maternity on State Street welcomes moms to breastfeed in their fitting rooms.

I would be a lot of the fancier hotels would have nice bathroom facilities, often with real old fashioned powder rooms where there are nice couches to sit on. Just walk into the hotel like you belong there.

Best of luck!

Marshall Fields in Water Tower Place has a ladies lounge with a couch. I breast fed my 4 week old there. There is also a changing table. I would think the Fields on State St also has a lounge facility that would enable comfortable breastfeeding.

Nordstrom has a nursing area on the 4th floor. Nordstrom really caters to moms I take my little boy there every Tues after the movies next door at Reel moms. If youre looking to get out with your little one the movies were my savior and they promote nursing too.

I would definitely recommend going to
Nordstrom located at 55 E Grand Ave
Chicago, IL 60611. They have underground parking available with preferred parking for new moms. There are great shops, food & lego displays!
Their bathrooms are very clean & just right for you.

Nordstrom! The floor that has the children's department (I think 3rd floor) has a nursing lounge and a nice changing table.

I think Marshall Fields on State has nice places. I know it may sound strange but their bathrooms are with sitting rooms where you could easily BF your baby (maybe on the floor where baby/kids departments is). I'm sure Water Tower mall should have great places to nurse (I went to their restaurant and nursed there but it wasn't too private though).

I think there is a Nordstrom's on Michigan Ave. If it is anything like the Nordstrom's in Woodfield, it is a nice women's washroom with lounge for breastfeeding. I know when I have been at the mall, I will go into a dressing room in a department store, and feed my daughter. The store attendants are usually very accomodating.

The Nordstrom (and the mall its a part of) on Michigan Ave. is great for breastfeeding and changing. Nordstrom itself has a separate nursing room for mothers with great big comfy chairs and a changing table. Very private and cozy. I believe its on the second floor, but just ask.
