My oldest daughter had no teeth until she was 14 months old. She is now almost 5 and has great teeth. The dentist said the later they come in, the stronger they are!
Hi moms,
My son is 10mths old and no sign of a tooth. I touch his gums and they are still soft. Please tell me that this is normal for some of you. I have spoke to the Pediatrician and she states that I do not need to worry unless he was 2 years old. He drools and says da-da, ba-ba, but no sign of a tooth. Just curious!

Don't worry I was worried too. My son was 10 months advanced in everything and no teeth. Then one day they appeared. They'll be their soon enough.

My nephew got his first tooth at 13 months. There's absolutely nothing to worry about. In fact, I've heard that the longer it takes for teeth to start erupting, the healthier they will be later on in life. My nephew is now 15 and has never had a cavity or any other problems with his teeth.
It's way too early for you to worry about this!
my daughter only had 2 teeth till she was a little over 1, and i was just like you, very concerned that she was behind the curve. but dont worry, within days she got ten teeth just about all at once. most likely this will happen with your little one too.
Normal! Some teeth erupt later. You won't always feel a hard bump or something before they erupt. Sometimes there's no signs, just pops up one day.

My friend's son didn't get his first tooth until after his first birthday. I wouldn't worry.
Don't worry. My daughter was a week shy of her first birthday before she got a tooth. She got them one right after another after that. My son is seven months old and he has two already. Go figure!
Don't worry at all my little girl did not get her first tooth until she was almost one. But I loved it!! They look like a baby for longer :)
My second son did not get his first tooth until 20 mos. old. I checked my husband's baby book and he did not get his until 16 mos. Every child is different. I even consulted my older son's dentist and he said it was fine. He is 4 and has all of his teeth.
My older daughter didn't get teeth until she was one. my younger one got the top and bottom two early but nothing else until she was one. they're in there... just taking their time!
My daughter didn't get teeth until she was about 1, I was nervous as well, asked the doctor, she said not to worry, and she was right. Keep in mind that the later they get teeth, the later they start to fall out. My daughter didn't lose any teeth until way after her friends started to. Don't worry!!!!
I think it's common and not a danger. Your child's teeth will stay pristine longer. Not to worry.
I believe when you get your teeth is genetic. Both my boys got their teeth late. My oldest was 1 year 2 weeks old and my younger one was 11 1/2 months. When I checked my baby book and my husband's, we both got teeth late too. The teeth don't really help them eat, you just have to try to keep them clean. Don't worry, the teeth will come when they are ready.
I know how you feel!!! My son was 14 months old before he got his first tooth. All of the other babies in his daycare class had teeth months before he did. My Pediatrician sead if they at least have one tooth before they are 14 months old it is considerd normal! Just wait it out, the teeth will come!
HI AR
Have you talked to your Ped about your concerns? I know the teeth will come in but my concern is that you are concerned.
Just wanted to know. Hang in there. D.
Hello, :o)
My daughter was almost 11 months before she got her first tooth, and all was fine.
As a side note she was 30 and had 4 children before she got her first cavity. :o)
My daughter will be a year old on Sept 17th. She just got her first tooth yesterday!
My pediatrician told me it's normal and not to worry! The teeth will come!
This is just one of those things are vary per child. There is no "normal". All four of my kids refused to act like the textbook child. It was very frustrating at first, but now I am glad that they are each unique people.
If your doc isn't worried, I wouldn't be.
I would not worry either. My son did not get any teeth until he was over eight months old. after my son got about five or six teeth he did not get any more for five months and all of a sudden he was getting in two and three at a time. Just think the longer it takes for them to come in the better his teeth may be. I would just go with the flow. as long as it does not interfere with his eating he will be fine.
Try not to worry about it. I was the same way. I was so anxious for him to get teeth and everytime he was crabby I would "this is it, he's getting a tooth" My son didn't get his first tooth until 10 months. Now he's almost 17 months old and he still only has 7 teeth. My cousin's daughter got her first tooth the day after her first birthday. She'll be 2 next week and she still only has 12 teeth (her molars just finished coming in last month). It has had no impact on their development, eating habits or anything else. My son says a lot of words for his age and my cousin's daughter is extremely bright and speaking in full sentences. Please don't worry.
I'm pretty sure my daughter's first tooth came in at 10 months. Hope that reassures you some!
