What I like about Oreck is that you can get it fixed if it breaks. All other vacuums go in a landfill.

Hi J. Dirt Devil and Hoover are pretty good. I never tried a Orick before. Look up Comsumer reports it will tell you how good appliance are.

I love my Oreck and probably will never buy anything else. It's so lightweight and goes straight from hardwood, tile, etc., to carpet.

I love our Dyson. I bought it from Woot about 6 months ago for about 1/2 of the normal price. It's great.

I'm a Kirby gal myself. My mom bought one 3 weeks after I was born, and had it for 25 years! She traded that one in for the new model at the same time I bought one 5 years ago and I love it! It's pretty expensive, but I'll never have to buy another vacuum. All the hoses have a total replacement warrently, but it's practically impossible to break or crack one. It comes with a carpet shampooer, you can use it to pump things up, and there are other attachements you can get such as a floor buffer. It's kind of heavy, but does feature a self-propelling feature.
Anytime I plug that Kirby in, I can just go to town cleaning with all the attachements that come with it.
You can have a Kirby rep come and do a demonstration for you...

I bought my Dyson from Amazon and love it. I put a post about 6 months ago just like yours and Dyson won over Oreck that is why I decided to invest in the Dyson. No regrets, I love mamasource!!! :)

Hoover Windtunnel. Consumers report has voted again and again positively. You can always find bags and belts too.

just upgraded my old oreck that i had for just over 10 years. nothing wrong, they cut you a deal if you upgrade, which is nice. love the orecks. good suction and VERY lightweight. heard people love the dyson, but VERY heavy. had a couple of friends that had both, loved them but would go back to oreck b/c of the weight. easier to do stairs and carry around. both said great vacuum, but life is easier when you are more mobile.

Dyson. Expensive, but worth every bit of it. The first time we used it we realized that our other vacuum cleaner was absolutely worthless. Every time I vacuum now I get a sense of "clean". I love it. With two cats and lots of shedding, we needed something that would ensure our floors and furniture were clean for our daughter to play on.
