My family just moved to the Wexford area from Florida a few months ago. I have a 4 year old son and a 1 year old daughter! We would love to meet families with similar aged children for play dates and I would love to have the occasional Mom's Night Out! Let me know how you met new people, if you're new to the area too!!! :)

What can I do next?

I'm sure the township has Mom's events that they sponsor. I live in Ross township, which is not too far away from you. I've met parents by signing my son up for activities in the community newsletter. Wexford probably has something similar.

There are several Moms clubs. THere is one of Mccandless/Ross, Franklin Park/Wexford, and a Cranberry one depending on location. Is your son going to preschool in the fall? Let me know and I can help you with some suggestions in the area.

There is a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group at several area churches. Try out the group at Christ Church at Grove Farm located near the Mt. Nebo exit of 79 (one exit south of the Wexford exit). It meets about two Thursday mornings a month. Childcare is provided. The group meets formally through the school year and has play groups through the summer.

Hi K.,

If you work part time or less (i.e. SAHM), the MOMS Club could be a good fit for you. I don't think there is a current Wexford chapter, but they may allow you into a neighboring chapter. We moved to the Cranberry area almost 3 years ago and the moms and kids really helped me transition both from working and to this area. It's $25 a year, completely non-religious, and provides activities, playgroups, and that needed MNO:)

Check out www.momsclub.org to get started, or send me a note and I'll get you our chapter's membership coordinator to get you hooked up with the necessary paperwork!

Take care,
T.
