I bought an Instep Safari twin off craigslist for a steal-what a find! It's a great stroller and I used it every day. Best investmet I've made so far with these guys.
I just finished breast feeding and I'm ready to get back on the running trail. I don't know which jogging stroller to purchase. Is there one out there that is good quality and priced decent? I would hate to spend a couple of hundred bucks on one and then find out it isn't very good.

I used a Dreamer Design with my first. I bought on ebay and paid less than what I would have paid for an okay jogger at the store. It has been fantastic. It has a good size basket underneath, a pouch for carrying keys and such and 2 water bottle holders. The handle on it is adjustable, which is good because I'm pretty short and my husband is not. It was also nice because I could adjust it when rollerblading. The only reason we don't have the double is because it is quite a bit more expensive. I got very spoiled with my single. You do need the one with the fixed wheel though, the swivel wheels are not made for jogging. Dreamer design does sell a swivel wheel kit so that you could change it if you wanted.
Hi,D.. I absolutely LOVE my Jeep Overland jog stroller. It might be considered a little heavy, but it travels easily over all types of terrein and is very solid. Some of my favorite features are the adjustable sunshade, the weather shield (that way you can run even if it's windy or misty out, and baby stays comfy), and the music player (works with any CD, MP3, or cassette/radio). We have put lots of miles on that stroller. I can't rember the cost exaxtly, but it was moderate. The only problem is that although it does fold up, it is quite large, so doesn't fit into normal size trunk. If you're going to be travelling with it, you'll have to strap it on top of the car, or take the wheels off, or maybe you have an SUV, and it will fit. Good Luck! --Katy
I own a BABYJOGGER. I really like it. The front wheel does not swivel--you simply tilt the handlebar down slightly to lift the front wheel barely off the ground to "turn". It is extremely lightweight and comes with a safety strap to wear around your wrist so the stroller never gets away from you. The tires are like bike tires. It has a hand brake, too. Good luck in your search.
I don't personally own a jogging stroller, but the stroller I purchased from Babies R Us is wonderful so I would highly recommend their products. If you go to their website www.babiesrus.com then search for jogging stroller, they have several different ones and if you click on them, they have reviews from parents who have used them. I hope that helps!
Hi D.,
I liked the jeep stroller very much, because you can hook up a mp3 player and listen to some music. It helped me a lot getting into shape again.
I have a 5K that I really like, except it doesn't have a swivel front wheel. If I had to do it over, I would buy one with a swivel front wheel.
I jog with the 3-wheeled Jeep Stroller. It looks cool and it's just great...built-in shocks, storage compartment underneath, a little steering wheel and tiny horn for your little one (when she's older) to get in on the action! It's only around $100 brand new. You could probably find a good, slighty-used one on craigslist.com.
I have a BOB and I LOVE it! I know they are expensive, but they are well worth the money. It is so light and easy to maneuver. It has a swivel wheel, which I totally recommend. I use it everyday in my Stroller Strides class and it has held up very well.
I use my BOB Revolution as my main stroller and it's a jogging stroller. It works fabulously and though I don't run, we do walk the dogs all over the place and on all sorts of terrain. Try watching Craig's List for a slightly used one, or look for a prior year's model. Locally, Right Start and REI carry them I think.
Hi D.,
I bought a baby jogger and I love it! I did a lot of research and decided I wanted a BOB but could not register for it at babies r us so I selected the baby jogger. It has a locking front wheel so it can either swivel or lock straight. I think it would be hard to jog without the wheel locked straight. I jog pushing the stroller with my left hand and holding my dog's leash in my right hand and we all three love it. It does take some getting used to jogging and pushing a stroler at the same time, but don't get frustrated. It took me a while to realize that it's actually easier to push with one hand instead of two. It allows for more freedom of movement for you, and better mimicks real jogging. Hope this helps.

Hi D.,
I love my Babytrend Jogger!!!!!! It has a swivel wheel, light weight, step counter, and a speaker to hook up my I-Pod. I got mine at Babies R’ Us it was about $130.00, I’m not an big jogger, but when I do get out there, my little one enjoys the ride.
Good Luck
I did a lot of research looking for my first jogging stroller. I bought a used schwinn jogger and it's really great. It's really safe for the baby and easy to maneuver. craigs list might have some really high quality used jogging strollers that are under $100. Good luck!!
I'm also a fan of Dreamer Design. The best thing is the canopy which can swivel around to block sun from a variety of angles. It folds easily, is durable, has compartments for "stuff" and has been really comfortable for my son and me.
I love my Jeep Stroller it is great out side!!! Only down fall is that it does not have a swivel front wheel. Good luck
It's not cheap, but I LOVE the BOB Revolution stroller. The front wheel can be free or locked. (I see it all over town, so it's not just me!) It does tend to drift when locked, but I actually prefer to jog with it free. No wheelies to turn a corner. We love it for walks, especially with a 6'4" husband, and acutally prefer it for travelling (they hand check it at security and we gate check it). For $50, you can get a car seat adapter that converts to a snack tray. Probably don't need it now, but if you're going to spend $$ on a good stroller you'll want to use it if you have another baby! A suggestion - join the REI co-op ($15 once, for life) and every few months they offer a 20% off any one item for memebers. Makes the $360 price tag a little easier.
Hi D.,
I'm a serious marathon runner and loved the Jogger Baby stroller. It is worth the money. My son is now 4 and finally just stopped using it with me.
Good luck and happy running!

D.:
I just got a new one in December and it works great. It was on Consumer Reports as rated higher than the Kelty for safety and out-ranked the BOB by a few. It is a Dreamer Design Rebound lite. we actually found an older Dreamer Design Rebound model (not the lite)for 75.00 new on ebay. When we got it, the frame was a bit out of whack. I would have never noticed it, but my husband did. I usually run with a 45lb dog too, so we are always re-adjusting!!! Anyway, he emailed the company and they have a lifetime warranty on their frames and sent us a new one QUICKLY. I have been really pleased with it the few times I have taken it out. It was too cold and windy to take my son out until recently. Ebay was GREAT...they had a bunch of Lites as well for under 200. It was a good deal for us.
Good luck.
BOB strollers are awesome! They really just glide so easily. They can be pricey though...
Check out Once upon a Child in Plano (NE Corner Legacy and Independence). They have used Jogging Strollers there and typically have quite a few, Good Prices on all.
One tip I can give you is to make sure and select a stroller that has front wheel rotation, as opposed to one that has a fixed front wheel. I made that mistake and have to pop wheelies every time I want to turn. It is very difficult to steer.
I have had a jogging stroller with a swivel wheel (that also locked) and a fixed wheel. The fixed wheel is really best for running. I am now using a BOB double ironman which I love. I got in on Craig's List. Anyway when you are running (and I have 60 pounds of boys in there) it is easy to turn without popping a wheelie (actually easier than when walking). It is so smooth and easy to push. I have run several marathons myself but have been out or practice with two kids. I have always been a wimp about running with a stroller and I have found this one to be wonderful. Good luck! I have heard Baby Joggers are great too and I found a very good deal on a new one on ebay (I think Back Bay strollers or something).
