Hi, i am a stylist and if you lived near me, i would say stop in! But because you are not, you should know it is as important to find the right stylist as it is to find the right hairstyle. Even if you have a style picked out that you think you would like, a good stylist will be able to tell you if it will look great on you or not. My suggestion is to pick up a hairstyle magagine at the grocery store or walgreens, etc., and they now have sections in those books that have like 300 clip out pictures so you can take them with you. Then, to find a stylist, look at all the hair around you-when you are in line at the bank, grocery store, wherever you are, and ask someone with great hair where they get it cut. When you get the name of a few places, go to the salons and just sit in the waiting area and watch them work for a while. Tell them that's what you are doing. They won't mind. (If they do, you are in the WRONG place.) If you see the clients leaving with great hair, AND the stylists have nice hair too, then i would try that salon. But remember, you get what you pay for. This is an important cut for you, and no one says you need to spend $100 to get it done, but there is a big difference between a $10 cut and a $60 cut. There is not much difference at all between a $60 cut and a $200 cut, okay?
Good luck!(no supercuts or great clips!)

I go to Salon Ciseaux on the corner of Wymore and Lee Rd. My stylist is Shelly and I've been really happy with what she's done with my style as I also have a round face. Here is the website: http://www.salonciseaux.com/

I had long hair(middle of my back) until last saturday. I was tired of knots and pony tails. I had it cut a little bit longer than shoulder length and layers in the bottom. Then she put highlights in the top and dyed the very far underneath a shade darker. It looks really cute. I had a bridal shower the next day and everyone loved it. I just didn't have the patience for the long hair anymore.

I'm not sure where you live, but if it's in Port St. Lucie, go to Steve and Anne's on PSL BLVD right past Floresta. I am chubby with a round face as well, and my hair is long and layered and it seems to work for me.

I go to Hot Heads Salon in the Altamonte Mall and they are great. After I had the baby I didn't really know what I wanted but I knew I need a change and look a little more like a mom. They listened to what I had to say and they did everything else from the color to the cut and I love my hair and get lots of compliments and now that I actually look my age I don't get to many stares when I'm out with my son.

I agree don't chop it all off w/o really thinking about it! It's no fun to have a bad cut at the holidays! Good luck in what ever you choose.

my sister is "chubby with a round face" and her hair has been the same for many years, longer with one length in back and poofy bangs. She recently got highlights and a cut and she looks fabulous! she kept some length, just a little below her shoulders, and got some long layers all over. My husband and I met her out one night after and I walked right by her without knowing it was her! And the cut made her look at least 10 pounds lighter, and made her face look thinner. I can not tell you how different that haircut made her look :) it was amazing. If I had to compare it to someone famous I guess it would have to be the "rachel" from friends. I get highlights as well and I always feel so much better about the way I look after I get them done :) That being said, the hair stylist below had great advice about looking through magazines for styles you like and then talk to a stylist for their opinion in person. And I agree, NO SUPERCUTS OR HAIR CUTTERY!! lol I made that mistake once before; you dont want a yucky cut for the holidays!! Find a nice salon and treat yourself, you will be glad you did :) best wishes!

A nice bob would be nice for the holidays and goes well with chubby faces .. A bob chin length would be really hot :)

M.,

I have a round face also, and hated my hair for the longest time. Recently I went to a salon, and just said, what can you do?!?! She cut it to just below my shoulders, added in long layers through out, and then framed my face with some shorter layers. It really looks nice. I seem to think that the framing helps hide the chubby / round look to it as well. Good Luck!

Hi! I know how difficult it can be to make a change! I had hair down to my butt and then cut it up to my shoulders with a lot of looking through magazines! Do you have a pic of yourself? I know of a program where, if you are looking at the camera (headshot) you can 'try on' different hairstyles... I'd be happy to do so and send you the ones I think look good :)

My advice is to keep your length -
you have so more styling options when it is longer.

If I could make a suggestion- I have a round face also, but I let my hair grow about a year, until I have a least 10 inches I can spare. Then I have it cut short and save my hair to send to Locks of Love. Then I do it all over again. Its such a good feeling, especially during the holidays to be able to give a gift that makes such a difference.
