I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I can look for a part time sitter that has experience. I only need someone for 10 hours a week and I am having trouble finding a person who I feel is qualified enough and who has the avaiability.

What can I do next?

Hi L.,

I live in Lynn as well, and my neice is a very responsible babysitter. She is 18 and has been babysitting my 3 and 5 girls since they were born. She is home for the summer and she is looking to pick up some extra babysitter. She will be going back to school in the fall. Her name is Kelsey and you can contact her at ###-###-####.

hope that helps!!

I had wonderful luck getting a great sitter on sittercity.com, which is a web site I found through mamasource. You pay an annual fee, and then you can search through sitters, and get qualifications listings, background checks, and references. A lot of the people listed have special training for working with special needs kids. Even though I was hesitant about paying a fee, I really liked the result; much better than just getting someone's name from a bulletin board! I also got a cat sitter, and they have elder care specialists, too.

Good luck!

I found a North Shore parents message board on Yahoo:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/northshoreparenting/?v=1&am...

If the link doesn't work, search groups for "North Shore Massachusetts Parents" and it'll come up first. It seems fairly active, and has a large membership. If it's anything like my local yahoo group (Somerville Moms), there will be messages from parents seeking and recommending sitters on a regular basis. I saw that membership to NSP is required; once you're approved, you can search the archives if you don't see anything recent.

I've heard that craigslist can be good, and try posting a job at the student employment office at Endicott College in Danvers.

Good luck!
